HELLO FELLOW GRAALIANS

I wanna be a moderator how do I become one :)

I have been on these forums for a long time, lemme be a mod

Andy0687 03-16-2006 12:27 AM

I agree me too, even though i dont think ive been on forums as long as you.

Edit: Ok you have one month on me, i dont consider that very long, me too then ^^

konidias 03-16-2006 12:32 AM

If you actually wanted to be a mod, this isn't the way to go about it.

You might get the support of friends, but I really don't think the majority of supermods are going to back you up. Your past isn't exactly one paved in gold.

give them the Brad touch and make them cool

uh yeah account my first forum acct was Brad0629 I believe sir.

oh and koni I haven't been in trouble on the forums in so long and if you look at many of the reasons I was banned it was for stupid things like mods deleting my posts when they had meaning and broke no rules which resulted in me freaking out

Googi 03-16-2006 02:47 AM

Yeah, look. If Brad just wants to be a moderator so he can hold the position and not do anything with it then fine, but I don't really trust Brad to practice restraint in his moderation decisions.

Damix2 03-16-2006 02:49 AM

If its who been here the longest I need to be considered too!

I played Graal with Charles Babbage on the Difference Engine.

Why would anyone want to be a moderator?

Yeah, yeah, we know.

Although it might be possible to "stuff" the moderation ranks with people who didn't exercise their power except in extrenuating circumstances, and therefore prevent other people (who are more likely to use moderation powers) from becoming moderators simply by holding onto the positions.

I'm NOT saying this to bash you or be nit-picky about grammar and what-not, but people in positions of power are normally expected to use proper grammar and spelling for all the messages they type. So if you're serious, start using capital letters and punctuation. Also, avoid run-on sentences.

And I think the amount of time you've been here really just proves how much less of a life you have :whatever:

I personally don't think that you would make a good moderator at all. But I'm not saying the current ones are any better. *shrug*

Loriel 03-16-2006 04:21 PM

If we go by the registration date thing, I probably have the best qualification to become moderator among most of the current posters. However, moderating the forums is not about being awesome, it is about enforcing Unixmad's intentions and I seriously doubt that Brad wants to do that.

My sentiments exactly. Just like when I go to the bank and the person working there has spent a lot of time working in banks, I realize just how much of a life they truly don't have and that I'd rather have someone who doesn't know what they're doing handling my money.

Or not.

Brad 03-17-2006 01:17 AM

I can type with proper grammar if I have to, but why waste my time? This is where I get lost every time someone tries to use this insult. What is SO special about typing with periods, punctuation, correct spelling, etc. When I am posting I want what I am thinking to be out there ASAP, without checking over my spelling and grammar to make sure I didn't mess anything up so some jerkoff like you could make fun of me. I don't have a life? You don't even know me so don't even try and insult me. I gurantee my life is worlds better than yours. I am in college, have tons of friends, and I'm living life to the extreme. I come on the forums when I'm sitting around in my room, have nothing to do, or just wanna see how a certain thread unfolds. Honestly bud, go to hell. Or..just try and think of some better way to insult me without making yourself look like a douche bag.

Oh, and Loriel, you've got me beat by a month in reg signup date ;).

Someone please tell me why a moderator has to be someone who uses perfect grammar everytime. Tell me why it can't be a blue collar kinda guy.

Just some reasons from this one post as to why you would not make a good mod for the Graal forums:

1) Calling another member a jerkoff (not very professional)
2) Telling another member to go to hell (not very professional)
3) Telling another member they look like a douchbag (not very professional)

See, someone insults you, and you get angry or irritated or whatever, and call them names. That is not professional, and not something Unimad wants from Mods of his forum....heck, he doesn't even want it from the members!

And please dont say "I wouldn't act like that if I were a mod"
Actions speak louder than words....everywhere, even here.....

You've called me stupid in the past, as a mod. Not very professional, huh? I don't think mods need to be angels lurking around the forums which apparently administration wants to be a haven. They should be normal, approachable, people.

You would have to show me that post...I don't recall ever calling anyone stupid

If he was a mod he wouldn't have to do all of that anyways! He could just close the thread!! Yay! ^^

True, I was just making a point of how mods would rather close a thread than see an argument, or be part of a discussion.

Uhm, you do know you close threads and delete posts often, right?

And in case you didn't know, those are actions too.

Also, you've often called things ridiculous.

osrs 03-19-2006 03:11 PM

Take a look at forum leaders, most of them (80%) are inactive for a long period and nobody care. So what's the deal if he wants to become a moderator ? He can be more useful than the current ones. :)
