Next Release??

It's been a few weeks since the last time there was a release for v4. I'm waiting on the next version to finalize my gs2 movement system, and also waiting for v2 to be disabled so that I can release it. Is the next v4 release going to bring the end of v2?

uhmm... There's also the point that there is more code flexibility being introduced in the next release that I need to recomplete my movement systems.

I was commenting on the fact that you want 2.3 clients disabled.

But only when my movement system becomes instituted.

Huh?

Besides, Stefan won't push ahead a release for just one person. And I'm glad. Pushed releases usually lead to an excess of bugs and other flaws.

Be patient, it will get released when it's done.

...did I ask for the release to be pushed ahead?

Difference between asking and requesting. He's asking when it'll be released, if the rest of his scripting commands will be in the next release, and if the next release will disable 2.x globally (which I suppose is a little silly if there's an option to disable it for each server as necessary; if Classicstyle wasn't globally disabled Classic'd still be a deprecated archive of hackers-gone-wild.)

If he is simply asking when it is going to be released, then a forum PM to Stefan would've sufficed.

Hahaha. Good point.

I pmed Stefan about something last week. No response :frown:. Then again, I understand he's really busy.

But if you are waiting for the disabling of version 2 to release something, just do what Okiesmokie said and disable it on your server.

lol, but I want to do that and the movement upgrade simultaneously. I don't want to release my movement until I put in the stuff that Stefan said he could do for the next version, lol.

Which is why he needs to know when that'll be, and if it's expected to work for everyone.

Except every single time I take another step, I realize even more how much something needs to be revised (Storm's State GUI).

Does it matter if you know when the next release is coming out? Let's say the next release is in one hour, does that affect your movement system. Or if the release is in one month, does that affect your movement system? =\ I say just wait for it patiently.

It affects development status. I can't release quests until new movement/hit detection is up. I will also have to do a lot of NPC conversion (which most of, ironically, will be more compatible with the old system than the current one). It's mostly like taking two steps forward from a backwards step. I can finish my boss scripts with the hit detection I made, thank god.
