Server Concepts (Space)
This thread is part of a few server concepts i'll post that are up for the grabbing. Post your additional idea's and concepts and maby even attempt to make it.
Space Well graal has never had a space involved server othan zone and zone isn't realy "space-ish". Try thinking alone these lines. Lunar Mining and Translucent Bio-domes in wich players can walk around. Try setting out a little story line like simply life on a colonial space ship and you could introduce some jobs, some baddies wich respawn and players can kill. You could basicly have the main city located in a big shape ship (colonie). Doing this will be mainly a graphical job. You could have a off base camp with a biosphere and a slightly toxic atmosphere where players could travel to by a automatic shuttle. You could even have a second base over run by hostile life forms wich can be killed for $$. You could let every gold,classic account have his own living space. Wich can be decorated with personal furniture. Wich can be used traded by players amongst themselfs and also bought from one of the few shops on board. Event Example: A dark matter monster materialized inside of the ship, every player has a emergency pda wich shows the location of the monster. They should kill it before it does critical damage. The 2 people that did most damage to it will recieve a event point on their pda (or something) Also think of other space alike events you might wish to hold, from laser tag till some advanced form of chess? Thats it for now! |
I like the idea of a space-themed server. It would take an amazing amount of development (and a large amount of talent) but if it is ever done well, it will be a brand new twist on a classic-type system.
From what I read, you want to keep it with classic-type bodies, etc, and not go with a zone style? |
I once had pages upon pages of ideas for one of these servers. Me and Nabru were going to make one ages ago. I didn't even have the best of it plotted either. Shame I formatted my computer.

Split game play.
Half terrestrial gameplay: -Missions -Random alien blasting -Make money to upgrade your spaceship/handheld equipment Half spaceship flying aroundness: -Battles -Blasting Asteroids (Mining) -Missions (Hauling Cargo (smuggling)/passengers, boarding parties, exploring) See Starscape for sweet spaceship flyin' gameplay. |

AEON NSC is Spaced themed, you have to go out in space and go to astroid to complete missions and stuff. We are keeping original bodies as far I know but, we do a something like a gundam suit you can get in to go into space

Well ofcourse there where attempts at "space" based servers and even classic had a lunar place. But no offense to those involved, but it was horribly ugly. Ontop of that i'm talking about a "Space" based server, not just like zone's war concept but events+worlds ect. A whole community and all of that chit chat.. but got to cut off this message cause i'm in my school libary and they have this weird policy against forums,msn,aim ect >.> they are the nazi's of internet =o!
