Graal: World War

Im in the planning process of starting a playerworld, writing down features what it should be about etc... I am looking for GFX and LATS mainly for the time being so we can get basics done then move on to scripting features.

What will make this playerworld so unique?
Simple, you have most likely played many world war games online but have you ever tried it Graal style? For now I am focusing on a Zone type combat in cities, Omah Beach... you get the idea. Then in the future we could even expand into a RPG-ish system.

Now this won't be any default Zone game...
I am thinking when users join they pick a team, they stay with that team for however long and you as a team work together invading various cities etc and whatever team invades the most cities/world wins that "World War" and they all get rewarded etc... then it restarts again and players could join the other team or stay on that team this time. So if you can imagine the wars could go on for days... weeks etc.. you could login one day and it would be over and a fresh new war has started or you could have lost major cities that gave you the strategy advantage.

Please post opinions/comments ideas and suggestions and if you are active and want to help with GFX or want to join as a LAT please get in touch with me VIA PM or another methoad.

Thanks

This idea has floated around for a while, good to see someone take it up. HOPEFULLY, it turns out good. The only bad thing you will have is, 12 year olds playing, example, heres something they would say:

"LOL LOOK IM A NAZI!"

:( You won't be able to pull together a capable development team.

Just kidding.
It sounds interesting. Considering you're talking about cities giving strategic advantages, I presume it's all going to be one gmap - therefor, huge. If that is what you'll be doing, what will the proportions be like?

Will players be able to walk into and attempt to defend a 10*10 level city? Personally I think that'd lead to lack of coordination and people attempting (and probably often succeeding) in lone-wolf assaults against badly defended locations.

Or, will cities be a more manageable 2*2 or 3*3 levels?

Or have I got it completely wrong; will cities be invididual gmaps which players work their way through capturing (and then holding?) which gives their team some kind of bonuses?

I guess we could make some cities locked or each team has to take the other teams city one at a time then it unlocks the next city etc.. not entierly sure yet still planning.

It's fully possible, it depends how to go about it. I suppose, seeing as im a god and made the original idea for this, i can email you my plans, which will help im more way than you think, also creating less stress and work ^_^.

And out of interest, what half life 2 modifications have you helped develope? I also develope HL2 Mods, i freelance on 3d models, textures and mapping :)
