Shawn64

Shawn64:

You were one of the best friends I had on GraalOnline. I remember looking at the global playerlist to see a private message from "S64", asking to hang out with him on Shangri-La. I'm so glad I took advantage of that, it reminded me of the great times we had on Unholy Nation. What can I say? I love you, dude. You are the best. Rest in peace buddy. You will always and forever be a legend on GraalOnline. <3!

He died are you kidding me?

I just talked to him the other day ago, this cannot be happening.

Omg...

shyguy2 01-21-2006 06:25 AM

It's a shock to see someone that you've played with for so long, do something like this. I remember playing with shawn on both graal and Xbox Live, he seemed fine...
Shawn was an all around good person, and I just can't seem to understand why he would do such a horrid thing.
RIP Shawn...

Lord Sephiroth 01-21-2006 06:28 AM

Just a few weeks ago one of my ET's from Babylon passed too.
Shawn was a funny guy. I'll miss him.

Malinko 01-21-2006 06:28 AM

There's a phone call recorded with one of Shawn's in real life friend, one of his only. I guess the person said, "I just know he took his own life."

:(:(

GraalOnline loves you, Shawn.

Eagle 01-21-2006 06:31 AM

Holy **** dude...

Frame 01-21-2006 06:33 AM

This is too sad to understand, I just did talk to him....it seems like yesterday.

DIABLO2099 01-21-2006 06:40 AM

Damn, I knew shawn for a couple years...we worked together on UN. Shawn you are a great person and I know you will continue to be. I am sorry I chose not to help you with your playerworld...RIP.

Skrobo2 01-21-2006 06:44 AM

I was going to make a thread, but I'll just post it here. Thank you Malinko for starting this thread.

I regret to inform you that Shawn Noel (Shawn64) took his own life on 1/18/06.
I don't have a lot of information about it, but I do have three different sources of imformation that confirm it.

Obituary

Letter from his school
This is a letter from his school to parents.

Phone call
This is a phone call that one of his friends from his website posted.
He called Shawn's school and recorded it.

This is a sad time. We have lost a great friend and one of the best developers I've ever seen. ...... I don't know what to say really....

RIP Shawn P. Noel
1988-2006

Zeltino 01-21-2006 06:46 AM

Wow...
I knew Shawn for about a year. One of the best people I met on this game. Always willing to help out.

Rest in Peace Shawn <3

napo_p2p 01-21-2006 07:04 AM

I never really knew him, but I heard only great things.

I am really shocked by this news.

RIP Shawn64. I wish I got to know you more. :frown:

ViCtOrEhEhEh 01-21-2006 07:10 AM

Do not mourn for those you lost but, rejoice with them in the Glory of your God

I had only talked to him once. His was very kind and sincere. I wish, as many other, i only knew him a bit more.

Skrobo2 01-21-2006 07:29 AM

I knew him pretty well. He was a good guy and had a good since of humor and personality. He was really talented as well as most of you have seen. I will miss him greatly.

Shaun 01-21-2006 07:34 AM

I am no good at this kind of thing, but I'll give it a shot for Shawn's sake.

He was an innovator, a leader, and a friend. He had his own special way of seeing situations and showed absolute passion in every of his endeavours. Although his passing leaves a permanent scar on the GraalOnline community, it is the other mark he made on Graal, his legacy, which is the greater. Shawn, you touched us deeply, and we will miss you appropriately. What else can I say but we're deeply saddened that the situation is what it is? We do, at least, have the comfort of knowing you're up in the heavens above, doing all the things you love, be it working on some awesome new graphics or designing a new video game.

Farewell for now, our dear friend.

LOL

Faygolette 01-21-2006 08:04 AM

Lol...the first time I ever talked to Shawn. I told him I wanted his halo hat. So he took me to a room & just gave it to me. Then I got reset by a hacker later. And he said he wanted his hat back. I never got a chance to give it back to him.

None of you love him as much as I do. He was like my best friend. I still hope that this is some kind of cruel joke. I'm going to miss him SO much. RIP Shawn. I love you <3

KuJi 01-21-2006 11:55 AM

I always hate it when people who are in my age, die.

Its something you cant explain, nor understand.

RiP Shawn

Tom 01-21-2006 02:22 PM

No way...Last time i spoke to him was when i was on shangri-la all day and he wanted me to hang with him whilst he made the awesome remote control cars and test it.

He was really cool, but, i dont want to upset anyone further, but my heartless soul wants to investigate if its true or not. The recorded call doesnt work, and the stuff could of been written. And im sure i saw him not long ago D:

petro1212 01-21-2006 03:00 PM

RIP, not much to say since you where the only person on graal to anger me faster than NaS =o...

Huwajux 01-21-2006 03:14 PM

May his spirit live on within us all. Our memories of him are not just happy thoughts, they are emotions which carry a bit of Shawn around with us everywhere. May he R.I.P, he was the greatest guy, the greatest games developer and the greatest friend. I'll miss you dude...

Darlene159 01-21-2006 04:43 PM

Rest in peace Shawn.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family in their grief...

DarkPhantom316 01-21-2006 04:47 PM

:frown: Man, I just can't believe that this happened..
Shawn always seemed so happy whenever I would get
the time to talk to him.
R.I.P buddy..

Malinko 01-21-2006 04:49 PM

Not a lot of people know the "real" Shawn64. He was a great person, of course, but there were sides to him he doesn't let people see. Madrox (Faygolette) and WiKKiD know the most about him to be honest.

Personally, I wouldn't trust K9 (Krattos) at all. He uses events like these to gain respect for himself.

But yes, I'll prays for his family and friends.

Crono 01-21-2006 05:38 PM

:(

Raeiphon 01-21-2006 06:10 PM

I mourn the loss of a much loved part of our community.

I never knew you mate, but rest in peace. We miss you.

D4rKv310c1ty 01-21-2006 06:11 PM

I never knew this Shawn64 but I did know he was the manager of Shangri-La

So, i'm not gonna say what I dont know.
My only question is, did he leave a note? And if so, what did it say?

As graalonline being a limited but close family like community, i'd hate for us to just stand around all day saying how much we missed him. C'mon guys lets do something about it. Lets give me a REAL honoury Gravestone!!

It must seem annoying for me to be very appressed, (someone who vaguely knew him) about the current situation but I know what this community is like and you've all shown you deepest condolences so lets show how much graalonline will miss him.

Anyone have ideas for what we could do?
e.g. a Flash animation, a gfx presentation, a well developed .nw with very well scripted npc's (like he seemed like to doing). Or a webpage with all our quotes and memories of him.

I believe im only trying to help if any of you lot want to handle it differently, fine. Its OK but dammit, if he was what i've read he's made out to be, lets give him a true 'Good Bye'

Anyone with me?

I don't like him either, I like fogles though.

He's a cool guy.

D4rKv310c1ty 01-21-2006 06:16 PM

My idea for this flash is to have strong impacted music track, and r/l pictures of ourselves coming in with quotes of what we knew of him... WE as the people of graal cannot let this go over. I wanna show this well respected kid how much we as a mass group of players will respect him as a honoury player.
