A new class: Hunter
Heh, I was thinking about this for a while actually, as in several games I play, i'm a hunter.
Hunters are born with a natural affinity to nature, and have been friendly with wild animals ever since they've learnt to walk. Hunters lack the strength to use melee weapons effectively at first, but are exceedingly accurate with bows. They also have a class-only quest at level 3 which allows them to get a permenant pet which follows them around, has it's own needs and is a great helper in battle. Technical Details: Class bonuses: +1 to dex per level till level 12 dam+5 with bows bows attack speed reduced (fires faster) can have a guardian pet starts with melee weapons, ranged weapons Class equipment: Starting off: 1 apprentice hunter's bow (dam+3) 100 wooden arrows 1 ranger's leather armor (hunter only, armor+12) Pet details: There is three choices for the hunter's pet. Wolf, Panther or Bear. Each has it's own individual stats. Wolf Attack speed: Medium Damage: Medium (3-6)x2 after level 10 HP: Medium (1/2 of players HP from level 10+, otherwise 40) Hunger: Medium (Has 400 food) Special ability: Regains 30 food after killing an enemy that drops edible items Panther Attack speed: Very fast Damage: High (4-6)x1.5 after level 10 HP: Very low (1/4 of players HP from level 10+, otherwise 15) Hunger: Low (Has 600 food) Special ability: 2.8 speed Bear Attack speed: slow Damage: Low (3-7)x2 after level 10 HP: Very high (1.2 times player's HP from every level + 20) Hunger: Very high (has 200 food) Special ability: While an enemy NPC is fighting the Bear, it will not attack the player. Does not work on lords, or players. Upon death of the pet, for whatever reason, it loses happiness. Feeding your pet raises it's happiness, but feeding it when it's full makes it lose happiness. When a pet has below 10 happiness, it runs away. To get your pet back, you must travel to Avalonia where a Master Hunter inside a house will find your pet for you, at a low price of 150 plat. The pet levels up alongside you, and has individual stats you can raise with it. Pet stats: Stamina: Increases pet HP by .5 per point. Agility: Raises run speed and attack speed by .150 per level. Appetite: Increases hunger (food) bar by 50 per level Strength: Increases damage dealt by the pet .2 per rank. Agility has a max stat of 10, stamina is unlimited, appetite has a max stat of 20 and strength is unlimited. Hunters will also have the Woodsman ability, and are able to conceal themselves OUTDOORS only (100% chance, lasts 20 seconds). Suggestions? |
[SARCASM]Yes, and let's have fairies who guide you and describe certain monsters for you, and aid you in targeting enemies in battle.[/SARCASM]

I don't like it really. Sorry but that would be WAY out of GK's way of play...>_<
|
It seems neat, but alas, people would just use skill scrolls and bam, they're a hunter.
|
The skill system needs majorly reworked on GK. Classes mean absolutely nothing.

Its just based off the Ranger class of D&D. Kingdoms does have ALOT in common with D&D (many of the spells including burning hands, the cause and heal minor-severe wounds, the basic classes - rogue=thief, barbarian=barbarian, etc) but this one is a bit out of kingdom's style.

no
this is based of wow's hunter lol |
Try again when we have class definition.

It actually is, WoW has probably pretty much made the most complete hunter class out of any MMORPG i've ever played.
|
Its stolen from WoW's hunter class, which is stolen from D&D's Druid class. (sorry I said ranger before, I meant druid)
|
Not stolen, based off. There's a difference, and that's rather insulting.
|
Sorry for the semantics. It isn't insulting at all, as I said, its just semantics. Every RPG and MMO in history has "based itself" off D&D. Many people would use the word "stolen". I myself find the argument silly. I'm not a WoW player, so frankly, I don't care if I insult it by accident.
