The story of Trindras

Trindras Sanreum’s past is a very common one. Raised on a simple farmstead on the mainland with his parents, he lived a pretty normal life. Every day he worked the fields and helped harvest the crops for his parents. Every now and then he’d also chop some lumber, or make new farming tools when they broke.

A simple life by most accounts, his parents were devout followers of Govannon. That’s why they lived simply, and made all their own tools, and worked the land. Nothing they said was more true to his teachings than the way they lived. They didn’t even have any horses to make the work easier and faster. That would be against what they believed.

Once the moon crashed however, and the Bomys became aggressive, they soon found their farm under constant attack. His father was much too old to keep fighting for the farm every day, and as such, Trindras felt it was his time to defend his family’s land.

At first he only had to fight off one or two, so his trusty pickaxe was fine. It wasn’t long before they started coming in packs to try and eat their crops. Running out of options, his parents gave him an old book they had laying around. They told him to pray to Govannon for strength, and to study the book. “The time will come when that prayer will save your life,” said his father.

Only a few hours after his father handed him the book, about a dozen bomys started toward the farm together. Trindras knew the pickaxe would not be enough. He put himself in their sights, read the prayer in the book, and allowed his heart to be filled with the wrath of Govannon. Once the prayer was done, from his hands came Govannon’s wrath in it’s purest form. One by one, the bomys fell, and once the final one fell, Trindras fell to his knees, exhausted.

That night, his father woke him from his rest, with a bowl of warm stew and a hunk of bread. He told him that he had that book because he was once a priest of Govannon, long before Trindras was born. He stopped only because he had met his mother, and wanted to go and start a new life. Trindras thought about this for a while, now confused by a past that he never knew about.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that that path was his as well. It was clear to him that he was blessed, and that Govannon would help him on his way. He told his father of his wishes, and he agreed that the priesthood would be a wise choice. He did however mention that he had some contacts with the kingdom of Dustari, and that it would be the best place for Trindras to study, as well as develop his talents, and learn some new skills, but it would take some time to contact them and try and set up a meeting.

Two weeks passed, and no word from the kingdom of Dustari. His father grew concerned, as usually he’d hear back by now. He decided that he’d send Trindras over to Bomboria with a letter and some platinum pieces they saved to pay his fare on a boat to kingdom of Dustari. Trindras hoped he’d be lucky enough to find someone bearing the symbol of Dustari, so he could show them the letter, and try to join them…

(This is just the background for my character. More will come later once I start meeting [in-game] people from Dustari. I just bought Graal 2 days ago, so I'm still learning everything, but I bought it because of the roleplaying on here.)

A story that's not only decently written, but actually references the Graal background.
Excellent!
Keep on the lookout, there's Dustarians around from time to time.

Very nice story indeed! Great job turning the everday life of a kingdoms noob into pure RP.

Thank you for the comments, I appreciate it. In all honesty, I thought that was some of my worst writing, as it's pretty cliche filled, but I'm glad it turned out at least good enough to impress some :)

Wow. Someone who actually recognizes Kingdoms' actual storyline. I'm touched.

Well, now all that's left is tracking down someone in Dustari to continue the story ;)

Good story, it feels almost too Graal-like. It makes me sad.
