Native American Longhouse
This obviously needs some help, I tried to get this to look right, but I fail at trying to get graphics to look good. If anyone could help me, I'd be grateful. It's an Iroquoian Longhouse.

It's rather flat. Not to mention, it's also showing a side that it probably shouldn't be.
|
Yeah, I know, I'm horribibble at graphics...>_<
|
Oh God. My eyes.
|
Lose the the other part of the roof. It looks odd. The texture looks highly repetive too.
|
The colouring part is good, you just need to think about the positioning and angle. You wouldnt see the back of the roof, the ropes wouldnt all go the same way like that.
|
It's too straight, Enough said. It should be more natural looking, being that its a Native American Building.
|
Its not that bad, I see potential, but I'm a bit crazy after all.

Man, I made one of these out of popsicle sticks and toothpicks for a history class in 6th grade.
Don't know what that had to do with anything just felt all you strangers should know... |

I didn't know if you wanted the house to be symmetrical, but I decided to try that out anyway. It's still pretty darn flat, but at least you aren't showing four dimensions with this one. You'd make a good cubist, though, I must say. I also varied the texturing so that it didn't look like a repeating pattern. The bottom looks the way it is because the house should be put in a grassy setting or dirt setting, and a few tufts of grass or rocks around it might help.

Wow, gee, make me feel better...>_<

It's really not all that bad, it just looked wierd because the porportions of the front side were equal to 1/2 of the top, when it really should've been less if you were going for more of an overhead view.

That is actually really nice, I know that when people played with the tiles they could make really nice looking houses. People often don't understand how to evaluate a set of tiles, though, so I can understand why someone would call it flat and ugly.
You could try adding some shadows extending to the right and also by making anything exposed to the upper left (including the entire roof) lighter in color, you can add depth to get rid of some of the Side Scroller view. |
