me
cause i have seen most not all of the graal 2001 scripts that work without NPC Server but some scripts do need it |
actually...I believe it is underrated......there are so many things you can do with it. And yes, several scripts on graal2001 can work without it.
I do not understand why you think it is overrated...even though i havent played with one yet, Just by looking at some of the commands and things it does, it is very good to have and use... |
im not saying its not useful but the only 2 main things I know of that it does are allows bomy pets (the best thing) and farming which i hate (i have seen another version of farming without it. It was good but not as good) the main reason i dont like farmin is that it takes toooooooooooooooooooooooo long

You just set an NPC's image to the .txt file, Graal will download it then realize it is not an image and will just make the NPC no image for you, but it will have already downloaded the .txt file.

Stuff that is only possible with npcserver:
- pirate ships - trading weapons (using the trading item) - kingdoms game - a non-cheatable money system Stuff that can be done without but would be very hard because it will be unbalanced or very buggy: - gralat 'plants' - bomy pets (couldn't move outside a level) - cs, ctf Stuff that can be done without npcserver: - railroads - music instruments - bomy player race - fishing, crafting You see, you can do nice stuff without the npcserver, but it is missing the 'background': security and stability. On the npcserver always everything is the same and equal for all players, while with the old client-side thing people can cheat or have advantage because they are the 'npc-controller' (first player in the level) |
To stefan
About that
-------------------------------------------------------------------- - trading weapons (using the trading item) -------------------------------------------------------------------- Also i belive that make a trading npc item is possible without an npc server.. although it would be buggy and hard ... My friend thinks so 2.. |

Oh hehe i meant laying down gralats.
It can be done with putnpc but when you enable putnpc then hackers might abuse it. |

putnpc2 only exists on npcserver and cannot be disabled,
while putnpc only exists without npcserver |
what is the difference between the two?

I've heard of many things dealing with the NPC server in the past.
I KNOW there are two commands that allow NPCs to walk levels, and to not walk levels. Although I wish there were a command that would set a limit as to which levels an NPC would walk, almost like giving it a few level names of what the NPC was allowed to be in. |
Jerom, you're talking about canwarp and canwarp2. The command to stop NPCs from warping is cannotwarp (im pretty sure thats it, dont use it much, if you dont want an NPC to warp you just dont put the canwarp statement in there...).
