This has nothing to do with anyone banned or anything, I just have a question. When someone gets banned on the forums what happens? Let me give you an example:

Lets say I report a thread and the rules state that you aren't allowed to do that. So I got banned. What happens with your forum time and all? Like if you're banned, does your time just keep going down?

Your 'time' on the forums is related to your Gold/VIP time, so yes, I suppose.

Your time doesn't stop on the forums, just like if the account gets banned on a PW, it doesn't stop.

How is that legal? Couldn't they get in trouble for that?

No, you agreed to the terms of service.

As far as GraalOnline are concerned, someone who has been banned has abused the service. If someone upgrades and is banned a day later, that is their own problem.

The responsibility of using upgrade time effectively is the user in question's responsibility only.

Agree, but reposting deleted threads is not in the terms of service.

I don't think it is. Plus can they have something so blunt like that? Like by agreeing to this you have to follow all rules posted. Then in the rules it says "You must send me $20." That mean you have to send $20 or there is legal trouble?

Sometimes it helps to go back and go over the TOS agreement again, and/or the Graal Rules.
I have read them many times, mostly when I am asked a question related to them that I, as a Manager, needed to prove.

The forums are a part of Graal, so the TOS agreement includes the forums.
Therefore, the Graal rules in general, apply to the forums also, as well as the TOS agreement.
The forum rules are specifically for the forums, and must be followed.

It's debatable whether it would hold up in court or not..
During a project for my Law class, I broke down Graal's user agreement and terms of services. There are a lot loopholes, illegalities, ect.
It wouldn't hold up if it went to court.

And then we have the Playerworld Administration, who don't understand that we're paying customers and that they can't ban us for random rules they make up. We aren't bound to most of these so-called 'rules.'

It means that you have to send $20 or terminate the agreement that permits you, among other things, to post on the forums.

One of the texts you virtually signed when registering your account says that Graal can terminate that agreement at any time and for any reason. I like that line very much.

Moonie, you are wrong. You can't just say that because the forums are apart of graal that they are apart of the terms of service. There is a reason that we have a terms of service. So if someone completely new signs up for an account, are they just supposed to 'assume' that there are other rules that they must follow? No.

You are only legally obligated to follow the rules in the TOS. Putting a link to the forum rules in the TOS would be a good idea. Yes, it is a very small thing to be concerned about, but that doesn't make it right. Just because it isn't a big deal doesn't mean we should let something wrong just go by.

This is the simplest link, but the user agreement states this at the very top of section 4:

You already agreed to a Terms of Service stating your going to follow rules when you registered for these forums.

Okay, then why have any of the other rules at all? You are saying: "Okay, follow these rules listed below. OH! And follow any other ones we feel like making." Why put the initial list?

Moonie shame on you for not doing that first! *shakes finger* lol Also it is in the TOS that you must "FREQUENTLY" check the TOS for any new updates. Also it stats they can change at anytime without notice to the customer. This is basically how all companies must operate. Please do not think Stefan and unix hand typed the TOS themselves. Obviously the rules serve to further explain the `any reasons' you cited. They just serve your information, because they do not need to be stated in order to kick your threads (or ban your account, as the TOS states) if you break the rules.

The whole Rules of Conduct thing seems to be purely informational as well, and outdated too.

Why does it need to be locked? People are debating and staying on subject. No one is gettign harrased until your idiotic statement about me getting banned. You sir do not have the right to determine who can post on these forums. So why not take your 'coolness' , cut it down a bit and try and be nice. It's not hard I promise.

That and I think they should go into more detail. Probably rewrite the code of conduct and include it in the TOS.

Well sir, I am an oldbie staff to Graal. In addition, (in real life) I work in a professional atmosphere, in management so it comes with the territory that I acknowledge someone doing a good job.

Sorry for this long and unstructured post. It is annoying how the post throttling breaks use of the thread structure.

I did not notice your post before, but if you believe that the agreeement that allows you to play Graal is legally invalid, perhaps you should stop playing...?

He was not referring to the general idea of having rules, but their organisation - there are a bunch of rules listed when you create your account, and a bunch more in the Announcements forum that only applies to the forum, and probably a lot other rules are listed elsewhere or implicit.
Also, comparing rules that were mutually agreed upon by both parties with laws enforced by a government is just going to confuse everybody.

They can go "I don't like him" and ban him according to the TOS thing that was explained multiple times. This is probably to prevent stupid people from exploiting loopholes. Why do you keep bringing it up?

Let me put in a simpler terms. Basically all the questions from this post were originally answered, therefore I meant this post should be closed. I'll try explaining in one last way...
All questions were answered. That's why it should be closed. And to respond about the personal attack you made towards me? You have no idea what you are talking about. I will only stat that back then when people were dicussing seeing our RC chat.. it was LARGLEY edited at that time by someone to make me look bad, because that person was corrupt. And I always thought people knew me and how I worked and would know that wouldn't be something I would even have to defend myself in. But anyway Fox please do not pretend you even know any truth from that timeline. I certainly do not care to bring that whole topic back up. I left Graal on my own terms I was never removed and I never removed ANY staff from position EVER. I always consorted with unixmad first. Granted I suspended people but never removed. Again this is not a topic you would know the first thing about. The truth remains there that day with me and those that were on RC on G2K1 that day... (and if you believen God, then you would believe he knows the truth too.). And please try to save your rude, personal attacks and childish behavior for someone looking to "play" that game with you. -contego
