When is RC going to support AOL members?
I have a lot of staff members who are AOL who cant get on RC becouse they need at least 2 parts of their IP address.
I myself am AOL and with a dynamic IP address I have to use the admin account becouse my player account wont work with RC unless I update the IP everytime I logon.

It is really anoying becouse I have some good staff members who are AOL who cant logon becouse they have dynamic IPs.

When will RC support dynamic IPs? Keep in mind that we HAVE to have dynamic IPs, AOL does not give static IPs, so its not our fault.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that you could use domains in lieu of an IP.

Don't blame it on AOL, there are multiple ISPs in existance, many far cheaper and better.

Yes but not everyone wants to change their ISP you know, plus AOL is one of the only ISPs that offer unlimited bandwidth for 2mb/s speeds. Its expensive but everyone else has limits.
Anyway dont change the subject, when will Graal have support for Dynamic IPs?

You only need to find your ip ranges, you can add a lot of ip ranges to your account

Yes, it aren't that many IP ranges if you look at them, record your IP adresses for some time and then create correct IP ranges of them.
For example, if you record the following IP's:
89.61.131.201,
97.31.78.98,
89.64.62.25,
97.31.92.42,
89.61.25.42
[...]
You can bring it down to:
89.61.*.*,
89.64.*.*,
97.31.*.*

This will usually work with every ISP, and it should be possible with AOL too.

Do what I did when I had AOL. Log as many IP ranges as you can. Add them all to the IP range (172.#.*.* of course). You'll only be able to get around 10-11 IP ranges. Even with all of those IP ranges you may still need to reconnect a bunch of times to find a match. It can be annoying, but that's how it is when you have dial-up with stupid AOL.

Isn't there a limit to how many IP ranges you can add? I have tried adding more IPs to an account and it would not update the information once I got so many IPs in the list.

There are no ranges, I have tried, they are completely random accept for the first part of it. I tried reconnecting 20 times but it still kept coming up with new ones.

If the list of ip-ranges is too long then there more solutions:
- it is possible now (actually since january) that you use an ip range like this:
63.1/16.*.*
That would include all ip ranges from 63.1.*.* to 63.16.*.*. The difference of the two numbers must be at maximum 16.
- with v4 it is possible to identify the computer a client is using (by an id generated based on your hard ware), it would be possible to add that thing to the new RemoteControl too and only allow access from your computer

You meen the network cards MAC right?

Okay I will try the IP range thing you said as well.

Probably not.

MAC addresses are not really a sensible way of identifying a remote computer.

Hard Drive ID's for locking RC's!

Theres no such thing as a hard drive ID -_-
