Hosted: Shangri-La

Shangri-La was inspected and passed to be on the Hosted tab. Check the playerworld out and support it! Hopefully it'll be on the Classic tab soon. :)

Indeed it rocks.

Matt 10-25-2005 10:56 PM

Good work to all Shangri-La developement staff :) .

petro1212 10-25-2005 11:53 PM

Shangri-La , not to diss a server but it seriously looks like a version of Telly Tubby Land online. The levels aren't that great and the graphics are umm diffrent you either hate them or love them. I happen to hate them due to lack of shading, texture and many other aspects.

I'll probely get a offended shawn on aim again cause I didn't like his work. Just like deal with the fact that some people dislike certain things (incase you read this)

Good luck to the server >.>... it will need it

That's one of the reasons i think it will be a hit. it's something different instead of the normal Playerworld with Quests, Bow and Bomb NPCs ect.

I like the graphics. ^^

DIABLO2099 10-26-2005 02:04 AM

Good job to Shawn and the rest of the staff!

Well, look at Era, it's a different style playerworld than the accustomed GraalOnline playerworlds. Of course, there are other playerworlds which have a different theme for the "classic" style, though that's the fun of it, having variety in playerworlds. :)

Other than that, I shall quote Spark911 from the following thread.

Hosted Tab:
This tab is basically for playerworlds that:
-Have good content but not a lot of it
-Wish to show what they have to get staff members
-Want to open a temporary world for players while they finish the main world

This tab does not have requirements as such, so most playerworlds are accepted but you still should follow the requirements such as security and staff. The playerworld should also follow the current rules.

Darlene159 10-26-2005 06:06 PM

I like it, it is different

Malinko 10-26-2005 06:24 PM

Shangri-La is quite nice! It had great success yesterday maxing out around 40 players. Hopefully Shawn64 will keep working hard with his staff to make additional content. Other than that, if you are interested in Shangri-La, play the playerworld and maybe offer some help. It has a lot of potential as a playerworld, so keep supporting it. :)

Good luck to Shangri-La!

Galdor 10-26-2005 06:30 PM

it looks cool =)

petro1212 10-26-2005 07:40 PM

Mmm.. I take back what I said about Shangri-La. The tileset improved a bunch and the new mountain/hill tiles look very nice. I still dislike some of the buildings and signs cause they'r cheesy but its looking a hell of alot better than a while ago. The mushrooms still freak me out tho >.>!

Mm.. it might actualy become something with a little more styling up and some sexy scripts and maby something to do (didn't check the current stuff out yet) but like a gameplay angle such as Ragnarok (collecting and selling/trading ect)

Yay.

Thanks everyone.

We are working hard but it seems we need more good NATs. If someone wants to apply for NAT just let me know.

PrinceDark 10-26-2005 10:49 PM

This Shangri-La whatever world seems pretty decent. I don't care too much for the levels, but it has a nice unique design to it. I hope the world has some nice Baddy/Monster/Event content to liven things up.

Spark held them and hired damn good PWA's.
Lmao. Too much crack on your head.

Anyways ... Good luck Malinko. I hope you stay doing a good job and don't get corrupt from being PWA like every PWA did except a couple.

Waltz5 10-27-2005 01:32 AM

I dislike this server very much... it has no direction what so ever besides "fun." Which it isn't.

FantasyX 10-27-2005 01:34 AM

I haven't had to chance to try the server yet. I'll put it on my to-do list. ^^

Corp1 10-28-2005 12:21 AM

Cool server, this server will make it and maybe they can take NP or SL down...one of them but not both.

N-Pulse will -never- go down. It's a majority of the old N-Pulse players as well as Babylon, Delteria, and Enigma players.

For you, maybe it's not. Other people find it fun, though. And it's not even
finished, I think everyone did a great job on it so far. :]

osrs 11-11-2005 06:06 AM

I liked the server, it's fun and original. That's exactly what playerworlds need, fun stuffs to do.

Mykel 11-11-2005 06:21 AM

Malinko...
Not being overly critical, but next time you make a review, can you make it long and in-depth? I used to love reading the reviews of Spark, or especially people like Jinx and Torankusu back in the day.

Just a suggestion.

It was nice. I remember when I helped Amon-Ra at Gaia and we were very ansious to see the review. Good times. :)

This wasn't meant to be a review I guess. I created this thread just to note that the Hosted tab is actually active with new playerworlds being moved to that tab. I remember when Spark911 created a review for Shaded Legends when it passed inspection for the Classic tab. I probably will make reviews just like he did, but I guess I only will when some playerworld applies to the Classic tab. Who knows, maybe I will do it for playerworlds that are moved to the Hosted tab aswell. :)

Anyways, on a further note, Shawn64 requested Shangri-La to be removed from the Hosted tab.

contego 11-15-2005 04:48 AM

*cough* Shaded Legend *cough*

Any public reasoning?

Maybe because the Hosted tab "seems" dead or inactive with the amount of players that actually play the playerworld.

Shawn64 told me, but you can ask him yourself if you wish to know the exact reason.

Splke 11-15-2005 08:36 PM

Word. I got on but my Graal client decided to freeze somewhere along the lines of joining an event o.0

It.. looks nice I guess? I don't know. I hate exploring servers.

Faygolette 11-18-2005 10:52 AM

I guess there were too many people going onto the server...which made the staff stop developing because of constant PMs asking to be hired and things like that.

That's not a valid reason at all.

Faygolette 11-19-2005 12:45 AM

No one ever told me why EXACTLY. Just that there were too many people on and people stopped developing. I like it better private anyway for right now.

That marks failure, In my opinion. If they can't handle 10 people on, asking questions, good luck if they ever get on the classic tab.

Actually, I have seen only myself, Skrobo and Shawn online. No other than that is developing.

Faygolette 11-19-2005 08:37 AM

There were way above 10 people on most of the time. The highest was 47 and it stayed that busy for a while.
As for the rest of the staff...we're in the process of hiring more..so you should see more active members. I hope.

MysticX2X 11-19-2005 05:10 PM

so you guys hired faqs right? and there is a thing called "ignore pms". And im not sure why you would be happy, you handle player relations. Now your spot is pretty useless. But if everyone loved shang-ri, theyd go on it even on private

Faygolette 11-21-2005 07:12 AM

Staff can't put players on ignore, can they? And if they did, people would complain about corrupt staff and that's the last thing I want.
People do still go there even though it's private. Just not as many, which gives the staff more time to develop..which makes it possible for the server to be finished sooner. I'm sure other people have their ways of running a server and that's fine, but the staff on Shangri-La would rather be private for their own reasons.

Why they could not ?

Try pming Stefan at Kingdoms and tell me how long it took get a reply, he is not corrupt, he is busy ? Basically what I want you to understant is that players can't disturb the server development just because they go there and pms your staffs, maybe your staffs don't produce because some of them are lazy ?

Faygolette 11-21-2005 08:17 AM

There's a difference between IGNORING them and putting them on your ignore list.
A lot of the staff ARE lazy. That's why we keep getting rid of them and hiring new staff. But good people are hard to find.
And try telling that to the people who actually try to develop. If you ignore the PMs, they'll just keep sending them. If you reply, they'll just keep sending them. Wanting to work in peace isn't so wrong. Let them do it their way if that's what they're comfortable with.
