Get paid to work

Playerworld69, soon to be known as Perilous is hiring staff. These staff that will obviously be assigned to a specific field, will be paid per project. The more difficult the assignment, the more money the developer is paid.

In most situations the developer will recieve a payment that is suitable to them, most likely negotiated. The payment plan will be as follows: The developer will recieve approximately 50% of the payment up front and the other 50% upon completion of the project. This can be negotiated.

In case you are wondering, payments will be made via paypal and if nessicary other payment services will be used as an alternative.

The server requires the following staff: (3) scripters, (3) level designers, (2) graphic artists, (1) gani maker. Numerical quantity enclosed within "( )" are subject to change.

Legal information: All ID to verify payment and identity will be presented to site/client administrator(s) upon request.

is this legal?

Aknts 08-28-2005 07:03 PM

Why not?

WanDaMan 08-28-2005 07:42 PM

It should be, I got an account upgrade for doing an overworld.

I then did another overworld so Konidias could get an account upgrade. I don't see any problem...

Oh, if you get scammed you can't blame Graal Online. It's like USDing on Graal Kingdoms.

xAndrewx 08-28-2005 07:52 PM

I wouldn't mind it, cool.

Curt1zzle 08-28-2005 09:46 PM

I'd gladly do work for pay. AIM me, Curtis868 - I'll do graphics, levels, music, or ganis - whatever tickles your fancy.

calani 08-29-2005 03:44 AM

Not sure if it is legal or not... likely caveat emptor ("buyer beware")

Nothin' illegal about it, from what I've seen. Only "illegal" thing would be if Stefan/Unix made an additional clause to the ToS.

konidias 08-29-2005 07:05 AM

I'm wondering what he pays. You have to pay quite a lot if you're basing it per project.

I'm not sure I'd trust in anyone to get the work done if they got paid half their salary before they even started. If you're talking nickels and dimes, then I guess it doesn't matter, and you're not going to get any projects done.

coder 08-29-2005 09:59 PM

That depends on the structure of the game your having a project developed on.

I would just like to note, I have been offering cash for completed scripting assignments for a long time now, and not a single person has ever actually finished an assignment for me to date.

I wouldn't suggest paying them beforehand, what's to stop them and all their friends from getting assignments and not ever actually doing anything?

Yeah, I agree. Perhaps 25% before 75% after would be a safer investment.

mystic2k 08-30-2005 10:35 PM

how about dont pay any up front and get paid when the work is in progress.

Then the person offering the cash could be like, "omg no cash for you, but i habe ur workz now lawlz. u suk!"

Lance 08-31-2005 02:39 AM

I don't think it's cool that the title of this thread is "Get paid to work." rather than actually related to the playerworld in question. Or that almost no information about this server is provided.

zim5354 08-31-2005 03:12 AM

they may not want people to know and would rather them make scripts/gfx/levels for nickles and dimes

mystic2k 09-01-2005 10:21 PM

Curt1zzle 09-02-2005 12:51 AM

I'd work with anyone...for money.

Chicken_l33t 09-02-2005 01:27 AM

Either way.. you're still getting something for doing something that people do for free anyway. That's the way I see it.

That sentence sounde funny, lol.

Then I'm glad you have no development skills, atleast no "announced" development skills what so ever, or I could be at a loss.

I agree. I would like to know what the server is all about and its potential. I wouldn't like to work on something that won't make it anywhere regardless of money. I'd rather feel that my hard-work was appreciated and recogonized by others rather than completely ignored and having my time wasted just for a few mere bucks. Also, we don't even know how much you are willing to spend.

Drastic Vendetta 09-06-2005 03:21 AM

Or, the original poster could follow the guidelines of the forum.

Either way!

Yes, we have followed the original guidelines of the forums. That's why there's a Perilous Hirings thread explaining the genre of the server and the storyline. (Though many many things have changed/updated.) ;)
