Why do people on Graal act like such jerks?
 

Nearly every single person that you come across on any given Graal server will act completely in mature and hostile towards you for no reason at all. They will swear at you with racial comments, or general swears. Then the staff will either ignore you or tell you that the person has a warning for swearing at you. I have complained about seven people swearing at me, and I have even had screenshots to back up my statements, and the staff ignores me.

Recently my friend started playing a certain server and he said that every person that he had met was mean to him. I have had the same experience on this server. People will do things such as,

-pk me when I do not want to fight and am at a disadvantage because of my level.

-block my way and then kill me if I ask them to please move
-swear at me
-call me a noob
-get their friends to kill me

Why can players not act properly towards one and other? It is mind boggling to me. The Graal player community is far worse than any I have ever been involved in. I just want to not be harassed for playing a game!

Many people on this forum know of my political stance, but they can be sure that I have never acted with disrespect towards any player who did not disrespect me first. This is the truth.

Are you comparing this game, that allows player killing, to some game that doesn't? Do you not think that, if it were enabled, pretty much every player in every game would playerkill?

I can understand if you're being harassed repeatedly, but complaining about getting PKed is just being an e-wuss.

Everyone's met graal *******s, you just need to develop a thicker skin.

Pking is understandable since it is part of the game, but on a server which I can't mention people call me a f**king n****r as they kill me with their high level character. This gets rather annoying.

I have been playing Graal for four or five years. Since and early version of classic I believe.

Relying on the staff in cases like this is pointless. Get even with them in your own way.

Or ignore it. You're going to run into this in real life as well. It's just the way it all works. The alternative, of course, is to simply stop playing kingdoms, like I did.


I was stalked and harassed by some guy, while I was PWA (before I had d/c and ban rights), because I am conservative. He killed me every chance he got and was some ridiculous level. So I quit the server and have no intentions of going back. Any server which allows such a stupid amount of unbalanced gameplay is not a server I want to be on. To put it simply, GK has too many PK zones and there is a stupid penalty (or there was) for not having battlemode on. I don't see why players should be forced into battle mode if they wish to level up a little more quickly.

Yeah, but it's different on Graal because your actions rarely or never have consequences of any serious nature. If you want to and can pwn someone in some way, there will rarely be backlash consequences for doing so, so if some guy is giving you trouble, it's a good idea.

It's an option, but it's not the best option. For me, anyway. I don't play games so that my experience can be wrought with unpleasant conflict.

Yes, I find it unpleasant to take it personally enough to actually try to "get someone back".

A pleasant conflict is friendly competition. Unpleasant conflict is rage-driven.

I'm not suggesting doing anything in an unfriendly context.

A lot of people 'act like jerks' in life. It's no surprise (or at least it should not be) that this extends to Graal as well.

People who are mean on Graal are those types of kids who want to shoot up their schools because some jock called them a ***. I guess some people here would call me mean - however I believe in allowing others to play servers without taunts. Moreso I consider myself assertive :)

If you think Graal is bad, go play Everquest, EQII, or World of Warcraft at the high-end level. People on Graal are cuddly bunnies compared to them. Toughen up a bit.

I play those, and Graal players are much worse. It is because they are young I believe.

I find it unrealistic that you play all of those games yet manage to have a high end raiding character in all or even one of those games and I find it more unrealistic that your experiences are the exact opposite of mine and many other raiding players.

Then again, you are playing with instanced nonsense with no spawn competition now. Maybe people don't bicker now, but only because they don't have to. In the Velious expansion, for example, people would make many attempts at blowing spawns and ganking mobs from us. Late nite crew and everything. It was many times worse than what goes on here.

In either case, you're going to want to toughen up if you get bothered when Onet tells you that you're sekkoling the onet juice or whatever.

Well I ment that I play and have played other mmorpg's. Not specifically everquest or wow, but I have played about ..**counts** around seven or eight others. I should have been more specific I suppose. :)

Yeah, but we do know what MMORPGs you don't play. He mentioned three MMORPGs. Two were everquest, one was WoW. You said you played them when you played none of them. That's lying.

Pause and wait it out, or find something else to do and come back later
Swear back (or, if you have the time, contact a GP; note that if you take this route, you shouldn't really be swearing back, but you should be taking screenshots of them swearing.)
Get your friends to kill them. Hell, join a party or guild and/or kingdom, decimate them, plant flags in their feet, and claim them as your property (and take screenshots to send to the Graal screenshot gallery)

Bull****! Absolute bull****. WoW has the most noob-friendly community in the history of MMORPG's. (to my experience.) On the other hand, a certian few graal servers (*cough MALORIA cough*) have little or NO community which wants to help out the lowbies.

"Oh but we have a FAQ team.." Screw that, worthless sacks of protoplasm do nothing but fricking ignore you half the time. I've asked, maybe..30 people, and there is only ever 1 person. 1. Goes by the name of Plasma on maloria, great guy, only FAQ dude who does his job properly and actually helps. (creds to Empgamer too, great ET guy, helps out loads)

I'm 11 on maloria, frankly, i'm wondering whether ive wasted my time on there. I cant walk out of main house without being pk'ed by some idiot over and over and over again with his stupid katars or ck's. They should be made availible to all players, give them a fighting chance. There's also constant warring over training places. Why not incorporate a instance system like WoW? It's not hard, i've done it easily. (5 levels with a party in each, when one party has moved through the area killing everything, they get booted, another party moves through..)

And some of you, namely ones tagged with the Incongetio or Xanadu, have their own heads, so far jammed up their own arses, people can barely breathe from the **** spewn out of their god-forsaken mouths. Frankly, i'm sick of the "families" and ****. I can ONLY play peacefully on GK without being worried about being corpse camped every 3 seconds. I'd much rather be mauled by a wondering rabbit lord than be constantly pk'ed by some hobo over and over.

Most of that content above will offend people, and thats good, because maybe it'll give you reason to be not so selfish, and help others out.

I'll now name 2 servers where this happens alot.

Put it this way - the idiots who have pk'ed me so much in those servers have driven me to the point that I kill anyone doing that on sigh (on UN anwyay). I'll corpse camp anyone who has a family tag with the in or xanadu on, and i'll laugh. Because its what you've done to me. Bastards.

Haha relating graal to real life, that was quite funny. You really can't compare the two because they are very very different... this being a game we have to pay for.

Only problem I have is when high level RCs on playerworlds use the offensive language and act superior, then when you go to PWA or a different global you just get shat on and ignored.

Being harrasment over a game is most of the times because you are bored.
Newbies Love, oldbies hate. Doesn't always have to be the situation but it happens very often.

Well really pking wasn't mean't to be legal cause if you kill someone you get no exp except for revolution ya get 10 exp but really thats not fair for some players because their always being pked like if someone kills them they just call their friends to lvl them up or kill them so for some people it really isn't fair like some can't lvl you and plus people want you to pay them when you can't
