Level 110

Perhaps its time we do something about these level 110 people that just sit around in trade room and talk all day, or run around aimlessly pking people..

I'm sure I'm going to get a few people upset with this idea, but when you think about it. GK isn't exactly a sparing world that you can just slaughter the thousands of new people. Maybe we can take theses level 110 and give them a week to reset and start over to have some more fun.

This is simply posted to get staff to realize taht the mental glitches.. are just getting out of hand and peopel are getting up too high of a level and being just about immortal from all the mental exp they have. Reading them scrolls from a level 110 gives you alot of EXP apparently...

xAndrewx 07-28-2005 09:31 AM

You're correct about the scrolls. But there isn't any other way to gain mental exp. They wouldn't like being restarted, and it would be pretty pointless. That's why I use low ac, to enjoy the game.

Zero Hour 07-28-2005 01:20 PM

I don't see what harm a lvl 110 who sits around and talks all day is, compared to a level 12 that does the same thing.

Zurkiba 07-28-2005 03:52 PM

I think everyone should start off as level 110 with all the best weapons and armor. That would so make the server much more fun.

Draenin 07-28-2005 04:45 PM

And would add a challenge for everyone. But if you want to test your skills more than your patience, head on down to the classic servers.

xRuffRydax 07-28-2005 10:20 PM

I don't understand what your problem is with level 110's. There are roughly 8 of them on GK, and 4 BARELY play. That leaves 4, not a huge deal in my opinion. Doing the alchemy to get level 110, is not a glitch, nor are using scrolls. Its simply a way to GET mental. Besides, it's not all easy as it looks, Sure it takes 3-4 days to complete.. but hey its expensive. They don't run around PK'ing people 24/7 either. If you were to reset the level 110's, who would EA things? Not to mention that they will all prolly quit too..
So overall, i disagree with your idea.. it would ruin the game more..

MasterNuke 07-28-2005 10:30 PM

Maybe give them an option to drop down to level 50, but be able to redistribute their experience points.

Sam 07-28-2005 10:41 PM

Hmmm, you are right Dayaa: they shouldn't sit in the trade room! Come all to the Misty Mug Tavern, have a beer or a coffee!

And about the level 110: I am too level 110, but just 21 in mental, always looking for people that are willing to spare my these thousand of scrolls to make my up my mental.

Fr0chin 07-28-2005 10:44 PM

Some people choose to take thier online time and use it for trades, others for questing, some just sit in trade, and others for leveling. You make the choice for yourself and let others make up thier minds also.

I have better things to do with my time than concern myself with what other people are doing.

nullify 07-28-2005 10:48 PM

Considering the alchemy recipe is readily available, nothing is stopping anyone from doing it and gaining level 110. Granted, it's not exactly cheap, but then again, most people could afford it. Redistribution could be fair, but you all know that lots of added physical or magic exp would overpower players, therefore shooting the fairness plan down.

Just my opinion.

Sam 07-28-2005 11:18 PM

Hey Fr0, dont be so harsh. I am very glad to have Dayaa as my manager for the Tavern. She makes a very good job and I like her very much.
Sometimes she is a bit harsh too, I know. Dont care buddy! :whatever:

Googi 07-28-2005 11:49 PM

The hard part is getting to level 23 mental to learn the ruby recipe. However, it is true that really the door is open to anyone. A much bigger problem is overpowered event items.

Fr0chin 07-29-2005 02:21 AM

I know its harsh Sam I didn't mean it to be my point is that anyone who wants to work for it can. The fact that she is not willing to work shouldn't effect everyone else.

I remember when Era had that "Let's have some fun" topic, everyone had everything and after three weeks they started to complain about a reset. It'd also be unfair for the people who worked their way up.

That wouldn't really help either.

- There's only one solution, a reset. Save GK before it's too late, we already lost so many players, fix all the bugs, restart.

busyrobot 07-29-2005 03:48 AM

Well I don't play these days, but I am curious about a few things between staff and players:

1) I am sure Stefan has been asked before, so what is his stance on A) resets and B) rebalances? (I prefer the idea of a rebalance over a reset, since I think most of the trouble would reoccur as it did before with a reset)

2) Who that plays likes it just the way it is, and B) if it were to change, how would you change it?

I. Make it harder to get to lvl 110?
II. Make a level cap that is lower?
III. Force players that want to push physical over lvl 50 (or something) to loose magic/priest skills, or some sort of other profession specialization system?
IV. Drop the current solo-RPG model that most mmorpgs are built on (since most mmorpgs have game mechanics based on single player models) and adopt a kingdom vs. kingdom type skill/profession/lvl system.

By IV, I basically mean were equally sparring skilled players can lvl up to kingdom type profession ranks, Footman, Knight, Pikeman, Caster, Bowman, Archer, Ranger but a Knight can handle 3 footman ok, and a hugely skilled maxed out one can handle 6, but all in all its sparring skill & numbers/battle strategy that determines a victor.

I am curious what people think, what direction players want it to go. If we just drop the lvl 100s in the game now, the EAed items will just be all the more valuable and distancing, so it would need some sort of item-nerph as well.

Personally, I think roleplaying would be enhanced with "option IV" if combat was more even/2k1ish but had some lvling/profession diversity elements to reward hard work, but didn't create any single over powered players.

Anyway, my 2 cents is simply that most MMORPGs have trouble with high level players because they are based on single player centric RPG game mechanics, and I think a MMORPG needs to be group vs group "strategic battle with player spar skills" to really be balanced. After all, kingdoms should be stronger than players, not the other way around.

Emily_Cruddas 07-29-2005 02:11 PM

Wondering if anyone suggested this before, but why not make the skill system from beta once more and drop the whole get levels BS? You work on one skill and risk losing the opposite skill, and with the P mode and B mode in place folks would have time to get stronger with less trouble.

This could also encourage folks to think about RPing since they would have even footing with nearly anyone of their class if they train enough, yea....this sounds like a great idea, folks could pick the right class and stick with it, now that i think about this it's the exact reason some classes became less used, the entire system was changed around and you never really see anyone using a thief at all.

Go back to the old build up your skills by using them system and scrap the levels, to H E double-L to ANY of you losers that don't want a reset, i could care as little about you as you did about a newb when YOU were getting your maps done.

Zero Hour 07-29-2005 09:22 PM

Personally, I would be in favor of a reset if the game system was restructured. I don't want a rebalance, players would just unbalance it again.

Sam 07-29-2005 10:25 PM

I put a lot of time in the improvement of my skills. I dont agree a resetting. If people prefere to fool around, or standing in traderooms instead of improve themselfes, it is their decide. But that doesn't need a reset to make all the same.
If someone like to trade it's okay, if someone like to pk it's okay and if someone improve himself with items he bought I don't care. So tell me what's the sense to make all the same? That is "Hühnermist"! x_x

ReBorn_Spirit 07-29-2005 11:30 PM

I agree with Sam here, I spent alot of time to get to where I am now. A reset would destroy all the event items that arent evented anymore either. Not to mention the huge player lose.. more so the old players. that means Almost ALL the kingdoms would just start all over.. with level 1 leaders.. and followers...

Curt1zzle 07-29-2005 11:32 PM

I vote reset, I think.

Zero Hour 07-29-2005 11:34 PM

If they restructed the system, and reset it, GK would rulz0rs.

Where the heck do you think alot of the "older" players went already? With all the abused glitches and USDed items that went from hand to hand there was lots of unfairness and a reset would be good, All i see from you and that other guy a few posts back is "Wah, i wasted too much time of my life here! Dunt reset me! I dunt wanna suck again WAH!".

Really though, GK screams with bad ideas, why choose a starting class and homeland? Why are their 3 of 4 types of pets when only ONE is actually useful? Why are most spells not used? (complaints of them being not scripted correctly, disabled or just plain useless) And folks STILL toss out ideas for a new overpowered piece of s**t item that only one or two players will EVER own due to a few factors such as high levels, being rich (also high leveled) and just buying it or favoritism (kingdom items are a great example here).

For once i want to see a smart person posting here and not just a powergamer that doesn't look at just themselves, and yes, some of you are powergamers and would type just about anything to defend yourself to claim otherwise.

Rick 07-30-2005 03:52 AM

Remort.

Don't know what that is? Google. :)

Damix2 07-30-2005 03:55 AM

I don't vote reset and I'm no powergamer...

Akoalin 07-30-2005 04:25 AM

I vote reset. Balance the system, fix the glitches, reset.

MasterNuke 07-30-2005 10:20 AM

You all fail to impress me.

xAndrewx 07-30-2005 12:03 PM

I don't like how 1 class can be like the rest.
A Warrior should be the only class what can obtain 30 Str.
A Barb' should be the only class what can obtain 30 Con.
A Thief should be the only class what can obtain 30 Dex.
A Sorc' should be the only class what can obtain 30 Wis.
A Priest should be the only class what can obtain 30 Pow.
An Alch' should be the only class what can obtain 30 Int.
And Charm would be able to reach 30 for any class.

GK needs to be re-done. This was supposed to be the 'beta' version, I guess it's now the final version.

That dont works. Some of these skills works together. And there is also something wrong: a priest needs wisdom to gain his spells a sorcerer need power for his spells.
and yes: I am a powergamer!

Emily spend your time to improve yourself instead of crying. And dont talk about USDing or bug using, when you dont know the persons you are accuse with your conjectures.

Draenin 07-30-2005 12:53 PM

Dude... We need Druids! (Turning into bomies, normal enemies, etc to attack.)

And merchants could have the ability to...uh... (A little help, here?)

Sell stuff? I can't actually image a merchant doing more than sell stuff :(
(Maybe I lack creativity in this matter)

xAndrewx 07-30-2005 01:44 PM

Ah, Sam you're right.
Most players are just not to bothered to play the game.
I was talking about if GK was to be reset.

I don't play GK so your assumption that i do is wrong, as for USDing i never said names or pointed fingers, but it did happen and that's what i was speaking about, a few folks were so bold as to even post that they made USD sales on these very forums, i suggest you look them up.

I'd like for you to re-direct me to some :-)

USDing used to be legal... seeing how the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct actually support it.

Technically it's still legal as long as you do it outside of Graal 2002.

how about instead of a reset, they just make GK Server 2 (which is just reset)

Yes, since there's such a huge population of current players on Kingdoms.

Eternal_Kill2 07-30-2005 10:25 PM

it would solve yall bickering on which to do (which we know nothing will more likely happen)

and eventually all would move to one server

Fr0chin 07-30-2005 10:39 PM

All I have to say about this subject is that u can all talk about this from many points of view. I have NEVER scammed or USD'd and I have middle of the road items nothing super rare(except my Ice Sword, which is that great of an item anyways). The reason I dont have great items is because I choose to spend my time trading for things that help me level not look cool. And not many people can kill me. I have worked hard to get to where I am and I feel I deserve all the strenght I have. I feel that many of the posts on here are from players who are much weaker and don't want to work to get stronger.

I agree with Sam's post couldnt have said it better myself.
