GeForce 2 card causing lagg...

I had a GeForce 2 MMX (64 MB, PCI) card causing most all of my lagg issues in graal, just letting you all know. I have a 1.3 ghz AMD Duron that actually plays graal now rather decently after I pulled that one card out*

Oh, and YES, I know DURON is rather slow for a CPU type. But then again, I'm not complaining because your servers are getting slow too.
Kirby hugs for you techies.. .lol

GeForce2 is a very old and obsolete card, your integrated chip was probably faster.

I find that odd. A PCI video card as opposed to onboard should run better, a regular video cars should be better than onboard, onboard uses your RAM off your pc to display your graphics and the card has memory on it so that is why i find this odd, your card was probably broken, so no matter. And duron is a sad processor that AMD makes, if you go AMD you should always go athlon..

Gerforce2 should be fine, it's more about the gfx drivers

ATI > GeForce.

I was playing graal3d with my ATI Radeon X800 XL, was EXACTLY the same on the Internal Vid Card.

Graphics card or not, graal plays exactly the same. ;o

ITS 2D :O!

Nvidia > ATI.... I have had my experience with both manufactures and I refuse to buy ATI now because Nvidia just makes so much better cards..

I hate my ATI, I want my Nvidia back :(

ATI is not bad, they are usually more silent. But ATI often has problems with drivers, especially on Linux. NVidia drivers are better I think, but you still need to install the good driver or games or videos will be slow. Graal uses a lot of 3D functionality for drawing light effects and such.

I have a GeForce 2, it runs Graal and others perfect, you just need the most recent drivers for it. I hated my ATI onboard because it was ATI and 4 mb XD.

My ATI Card works perfect...well...before i broke off one of those things off the board. (they look like midget batteries lol..forgot what they were called)

So anyway, 350$ to waste..worked for a good 2 weeks.

Actully its not the hardware on linux its the user if you READ their manuals with the 3D fix it says you must goto runlevel3 then rewrite the driver cfg file so your OS reconizes it and knows what to do with it then just restart and 3d works fine, Also ATI has better pipelines, and easier to overclock.

The old drivers and outdated CPU should not have made a older game like graal lagg like it did. Consider this once, I've seen a 66 mhz pc actually run with graal on it.

Oh, by the way, I got my new PC working with 64 bit in windows.

More on that in a bit.

I've got an Abit NF7-M motherboard, which came with integraded GeForce2 Chipset, and I've had no problem playing games like Halo, with all the addons and a high framerate. >:D I love pushing my computer to the total limits....

Probably, it's because it takes less time for a chipset to "react" to commands....

Old drivers are always a problem. Also a recent patch from Microsoft bugged a number of old Nvidia drivers (a patch that comes with the autoupdater). It's annoying to find & install the good drivers, but it's something which cannot be fixed by Graal itself.
