Scroll Making...
 

Alright, as most of you know, there is a way to make scrolls.

If you don't, i'll explain it how i've had it explained to me many times by many different people, all the same way. Here:

EXAMPLE: You have 1 scroll of detect evil (level 1)
/mark scroll of detect evil
/prepare <spell> (alchemy for instance)
and then use your inscription skill.

Okay, yeah, simple enough, yeah? That should take that detection scroll and turn it into an alchemy scroll equivalent to your mental level. Yeah, makes sense. So, why isn't it working for me?

What I get when i do it is a message that says:
"No message to write!"
"Usage: use_skill inscription <message>"

Okay, using the aforementioned process, I try it on another account, thinking "hey maybe my account / skills are messed up" so, I transfer my wand, scroll, and pen to my other account, repeat the process, and, it works. So, what's the deal?

All other people I've talked to and have had show me how it's done have had NO problem doing it. Why do I get a stupid error message?

hey nice stats, but maybe you need a scroll of the same level of what your turning it into.

try equiping a 'pen' :)

What I do is mark the scroll, cast the spell/prayer then equip the pen and say "/use_skill inscription"

yeah, I'm well aware of that. I do equip the pen before i use the inscription skill (only way i can).


Also, damix, I've tried it your way, and i get the same message.

well that's bs. it should be fixed, or at least someone find out what's wrong / why it won't work.

I don't want to have to get people to make alchemy scrolls for me. :/
