Classic 3D remake
If I gain permission from enough staff members, I'll be making a 3D version of "Graal the Adventure". For anyone not familiar with the server, Graal the Adventure was a massive server with tons of NPCs. I feel many of the great things about Graal the Adventure could be made even better with the use of 3D. I'll get to the point, since most of the people I'd like to work here have played classic before. I need scripters and level designers. Feel free to apply to myself. Do not worry if you do not remember what the levels/scripts are like. I will be able to help anyone in such matters. The reason I provide no screenshots is because there are none yet.

this is a horrible idea
also, what would qualify you to be in charge of such a project? what talents would you bring? what would be your purpose? |
How so? When the Nintendo Revolution was released, they said all games they release to be downloaded (SNES classics, etc.) will be different graphical wise. So, say a Link to the Past was 3D? I'm sure no one would say that sucked. Therefore, it's like doing the same thing to classic. It's remaking a great game (server) into a new view.

This sounds like what I'm doing with Doomsday, except I'm organized.

Classic has a certain look and feel to it that cannot be duplicated to a 3d environment.

I have to agree with Evil.
That server had a definite feel to it that made it what it was - probably the fact that it is from the past - which if you take to a 3D server, will take away that feel and destroy half of the fun. Either way, since when was Classic yours to copy? From what I can tell of your user avatar, you are an "Ex-Classic LAT". I do not believe that this project will be successful. |
I'll agree with the majority, because for once, I don't want to be part of the manority (twisted version of a song). Classic would never work in a 3D environment. LttP would work because it was a great game. Classic isn't.
