Changes for guilds
 

Hello,

I'd like to announce some change in guilds system:

• Playerworlds admin accounts (Admin-Playerworld###) will be removed from guilds, and won't be able to use the Admin panel anymore. If your guild is owned by your Admin account, transfer leadership now or you'll loose control over your guild.
• Guild tags will be checked before approval. Basically non-ascii characters are not working, and special characters looks uncool. I'll setup a few rules for the guild tags :
  • Only alphanumerics, points, spaces and - will be accepted in guild names.
  • A word can only be made of alphabetic or numeric characters (no leetspeak in guild tags).
  • Consecutive spaces will be replaced by only one space
  • The guild tags are NO LONGER case sensitive when creating a new guild (found a few guilds with variations on tag case : Rain & RaiN, etc...)
  • Guild tag will be lowercased, and only first letter of each word will be uppercase
  This rule will make the approval work simple. It will prevent people from creating guilds likes "FOO"-"F0O" "Something"-"Somethlng", etc...

I personally don't like restricting guild names so much but ok. Your rules.

Pretty "blah" that you restrict global guilds to only have the first letter in it's guild name capitalized.


I mean, just imagine, if BTK didn't exist and someone created it, then it would have to look like Btk, and that's...well...it doesn't look right :\

This is mainly for making it easy to find people trying to make guilds which looks like some other guild.

First, the Graal Website uses UTF-8 whereas the game uses ISO-8859 charsets. Also lots of people are trying to name guilds "(foobar)" because they don't know the () are not required (will be silently dropped in first or last position).

So, by adding these rules, will this speed up guild activation?

Personally I'd like to see more restrictions. Its still too easy to make guilds. I support a guild wipe for starters.

The first thing he should do is go through the existing guilds and remove all of the illegal ones and then open up guild creation.

Wait, Robert, that would totally kill most orriginal guilds...like NBK.

If you only allow the first letter to be capitalized, then abreviations won't be allowed anymore either, because it will now be "Nbk" instead of "NBK"...

umm?..like if a guild now has all uppercase EX:"NBK" and they have a guild house in a server for example, the scripts.

Player Killer. Not playerkiller. I wouldn't want to be in Shadow Dynasty's ****ty guild even if invited.

Scripts aren't case specific, you silly goose :)

I propose you chose either a guild "name" or abbriviation.

Name = all words first letter capital

Abbriviation = All letters capital, limit 4-5 characters

ummm it might be magicaltux or not.. but i was putting on my (Baddies) tag and a accidently put a capital S so it allowed me to use (BaddieS) for some reason :O!
i can use all caps and everything in the tag but not my nick,it worked for all my guilds ,same with *Hoss FIX MANG

I just thought of something! What about guilds like "UPK"? It would look horrible as "Upk".

Sounds pretty pointless.
Doesn't really make Graal any better.. >_<


..Seems like a waste of time, but oh well.. Not hurting much..

Only abreviations will be allowed uppercase.

I don't want to see anymore things like "I OWN YOU" or some stupid uppercase guild tag.
