"downloading" problem

Whenever something, like a sound effect or a map, is supposed to be downloaded, it doesn't happen. It forces me to get the stuff from someone else, otherwise the map doesn't show or I don't hear the sound. This is what caused the gmap problem I had. The gmap wouldn't go into the folder.

If you need further explanation let me know.
I want to fix this problem, please, so solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try enabling or disabling UDP Packages. It might help.

Rick 06-13-2005 05:21 AM

Files are not transferred over UDP.

I wasn't sure if it would help or not, thought better post it though. :x

Is this on any server or just Shaun's castle on Delteria?

Check that you have Write access to the levels/ folder, and all subfolders.

How does having write access to a folder affect downloading files?

Just downloading the file won't do much good if you can't put it somewhere for use.

Ack, I thought you meant on RC or something. My mistake.

Haha, I realise that was very confusable and very possibly misleading to the uneducated amongst us. I'm not talking about you, I promise.

I meant that the things don't download normally. If I wasn't staff, then I couldn't download it from RC.

That would be TCP, and no.

Questions:
- does it work for other people? use /find filename on RC to make sure the file is downloadable for clients
- do you have write access to the Graal folder?
- have you checked if the file is eventually downloaded by Graal but not used?
- what size are those files? normal graal servers are limited to 1 MByte game files (1 MByte per file)

FROboy 06-24-2005 11:06 PM

It's always been like this. It's not like a problem on RC. It's just that the files don't get uploaded into my graal2001 folder... and if someone else uses an NPC with a sfx, I don't hear it.
