Account recovery issues.
Alright. Let me see if there's anyone who's gone through the same things I have...
Recently, my account was stolen. Actually, both my Graal account and my email address was stolen by the same person. So now she has complete control over my old email account. I had Schlurfy of Graal Kingdoms ban my account for that server so that none of the stuff on my character could be fooled around with, but now I can't access my account in the first place, (I can't even log in!) so I can't try to get it unbanned. What's worse is that, in order to change my email address on my account to the new one I have, ([email protected]) I have to have the 17 digit Paypal ID number to do so. But guess what makes this situation tons better? I was never sent an email from GraalOnline or Paypal giving me a transaction ID number, nor is it under my history for Paypal, for some really great reason. So, I'm basically screwed on that one. I checked the actual bill that I got from them, and it had a number next to it that was really long, but lo and behold, it wasn't the transaction number. I still have a copy of that bill on paper, as well as a copy of the email that reads "Your Graal Gold membership was prolonged 1year." Two sets of numbers are given on there -- A 5 Digit Reference Number and an 8 digit transaction ID, but no Paypal ID. That makes perfect sense. You buy an account with Paypal, and every other number is on there except for the number you need to recover your account. Someone please tell me why in hell's name you can't use the two numbers in that email to let admins know you are who you say you are. Enlighten me, please. I had at least 600 hours of gameplay and spent 39 USD to get an account only to have it stolen from me by some adolescent, immature teenage girl who stole XGoLink's account as well. I just love the fact that neither one of us, experienced players who had a lot going for each of us and helped out other people now get this kind of justice. It just brightens my day. Someone fix this, or else there's probably going to be a lot more customers than me in the future who're going to be dissatisfied. Oh, and GraalDesk doesn't really help when nobody logs on for a period of greater than 20 days. |
Okay -- On Paypal, you can probably find the transaction if you play around with the history too... I found mine by setting the date it retracts up to a year. Played with that?
|
Ya I wouldnt even bother, I mean hell whats the point of paying for a god damn account when you cant even get any service ? I have been waiting on a return email from spark on my account issues for about 3 months now. It's useless unless your someone well known then you get **** down instantly.

Why not start by answering this:
"How was she able to steal your Graal and email accounts?" It seems you left that part out on purpose but why? |
Yes, I have tried to look far back into my history. I looked all the way back to 2001. It's just not there.
She got my account by setting up a mock-up page that collected information from me in order to "set up my account for RC on a server," and got the info from several people. The site was an exact replica of what a GraalOnline page would look like, except with a different address. I didn't leave that part out on purpose. I just forgot to mention it, and that part's not really important anyhow. The fact still stands that there is no good solution to the dilemma of losing your account to another person. |
You didn't only lose the account. You also lost the proof of purchase.
Hrm -- It was most likely purchased on another paypal account. Perhaps the account it was purchased from is on the reciept? EDIT: As for the rest of the people that posted in this thread, if you don't have anything constructive or on topic to say about mentioned subject, then it's better just to let people who can say constructive messages to post. EDIT 2: For myself, I had an email change done, and it roughly took me about 30 minutes for Spark910 to contact me, changing my email, and all the good stuff attached to that. |
No, it's not.
|
Then two solutions... Get a new account entirely, get the account unbanned, and transfer over... Or, find the reciept that tells you the required information. I don't know why the transaction ID isn't suffiecent however. You're stuck in a pretty uncomfortible position.
|
Yeah, no kidding. I doubt that an admin would actually transfer over stuff, though a lot of it is pretty valuable. (Like Sam. Boots of Haste, etc.) I really don't want to fork out another 40 bucks when my account is still active and I probably still have over 150 days left on it.

The problem is that players aren't knowledgeable enough on account security and account recovery procedures. There needs to be, in giant letters on the Graal homepage, "www.GraalOnline.com is the only address/site where you can enter your account without your password being compromised!" I know something like that is already on there, but it needs to be emphasized. |
I know the person who did it, she got Draven and Storm..

Yes, I lost my account along with three other very experienced players. It's not like it was obvious she was trying to get all three of our accounts.
Andrew, if you have any contact info for the girl, send it to my email at [email protected]. I have a bone to pick with her. And don't go talking about people being stupid, Chris. That isn't the issue. What I'm talking about here is the fact that the numbers that are sent seperately from the paypal transaction ID are used for absolutely nothing. Since they don't email you a copy of your number to write down somewhere, you can't recover your account if you don't go onto Paypal's site immediately and write it down before it somehow mysteriously never shows up. Why in the heck can't a person just use the sets of numbers that were sent to him/her instead of some other way. A lot of MMORPGs out there even ask you to give an alternate email address in case something like this happens, but does GraalOnline.com? No. It'd be much easier if the paypal number were included or you could provide an alternate email address to change it, but no. Nothing. And thank you, Velox. It's always better to have some helpful stuff to say rather than having people trying to tear you apart in order to make themselves look better and increase their already-large post count. |

Well, regardless of how stupid all three of us may have been, that still doesn't help the issue, does it? Go do something better than flaming folks who're looking for help and possible improvements.

Also, every purchase that was ever made on my paypal account from the time it was created, is in the history |
I have nothing under my history for it, but I have an actual copy of the bill. I have no idea of why it's not there. If it was I'd have used it by now.

Nope. It has a 15 digit code instead of a 17 digit one, and it's separated by numbers.

On an unrelated note, GraalDesk simply will not let me create or use a support account. Moreover, it says that *NONE* of my e-mails are in the GraalDesk database. Excuse me, but if I created FxChiP_OldBaddy as a support account, it's going to be going to [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected], and probably even [email protected].
So I can't register FxChiP_OldBaddy, FxChiP (because I don't know which e-mail I registered it with and therefore can't change its email), and I have no other Graal accounts. I already forked over for OldBaddy. I want my "FxChiP" account unbanned, but I can't do it without filing a support ticket, and I can't file a support ticket without a login, and I can't create a login because I already created one that somehow doesn't have my e-mail address. WTF!? Because I'll inevitably get a "why not create a new one or re-pay with FxChiP_OldBaddy." The question is "Why should I have to?" What is so deviously unsimple about unbanning an account and changing the e-mail address? I'm honestly surprised the account still exists, since it hasn't been in use for at least three freaking years. |
