Trigger Action Area's.

Well you know how we have onwall and onwall2 ?

Onwall is pixel perfect, and onwall2 is checking a range of tiles...

Could we have such a thing with triggeractions where you specify the area that it covers? could really increase implementation of like special combat moves and such.

I remember on old atrius we had a cool assassin move where the player would pull out his sword and like warp forward with his sword out as if he ran fast and slashed with the sword and we would triggeraction damage inbetween him and the old position but it wouldn't always trigger a hit because triggeraction only covers an x,y value, so can we get triggeraction area's?

I agree, this would be great for triggering an area

such a "triggeraction2" has been suggested before, I think

if you just use a ton of triggeractions, there is a chance of triggering an NPC twice or something (you would probably have to use getareanpcs/callnpc instead of triggeractions at all)

There are ways around it. Can't you just trigger the server and have it examine the positions of the nearby characters?

You could do that right now I believe.
You know how in level editor when you select an area larger than just one tile a thing at the bottom right of the screen says like:
(30,30)=>(35,35) = (5,5)

or however it goes...
Well, I tried that in a script once checking if the player was in that area, and it worked. At least it did in level editor.

You can check the players coordinates against ranges, yeah. But there's more to triggeractions than that.

I realize. I'v used triggeractions a million times.
