Races

Alot of people have been talking about races..
the kingdoms.. should be based on what race you are
forest.. the elves
samurai.. humans.. just like the knights of dustari
zormite.. well they seem more like dwarves to me...
and the priates.. well they can be a mix.. but that kingdom selection
thing when you begin should be a race selection thing as well.. it wouldnt be so much work to do this either, except for the current players.. but still.. that can be fixed somehow or another from what I do know about scripting things...

...

That could be a good idea...
But what if you want to change your Kingdom. Not many people stay in the same Kingdom forever.

Nappa 04-27-2005 07:12 PM

Zormite aren't freaking dwarves. THEY ARE FISH PEOPLE.

Pirate's should be human's not a mix, and as Nappa said, Zormite's are fish people -.- What about orcs? Where do they go?

Morinya 04-27-2005 10:22 PM

That must look nice in your profile
Race: Fish person

Unless Race affected your appearence or something, then it would have no purpose. And, if race was added, then it should change automatically based on your kingdom.

Rather, once races are implemented, they allow you to choose once.
And yes, races would have an impact you dolt. Elves, for example, are light and speedy, with archery specialty. Humans are well rounded.

They are their own race described as fish people. People in zormite are Zormites. This was decided long before your time young padiwon.

I was not impling that people had to be a race based on what kingdom they were currently in, or that Zormite people were Dwarves. Those were merely examples for an idea that I think should be talked about some. And I would hope for intelligent players to reply to this too, not just ramblings from whomever.

Zxion 04-28-2005 08:59 AM

Just to clear things up, the "fish people" are called the Zorbi to anybody who doesn't know...

Splke 04-28-2005 10:33 AM

Race : Zormite
<zormite history>
Zormites get a +2 saving throw on drowning!

~

How would you impliment this idea into gameplay? Anywhere past RP it seems useless.

ReBorn_Spirit 04-29-2005 12:13 AM

Well theres alot of different Elven attributes.. like the elves that are magical being allergic to iron... and not aging.. liking hobits because they are like "little people" and disliking orcs..
well I can go on forever really or so it would seem. There are alot of different aspects of RP that are being skipped right now without individual player races.

That would work, if being a race somehow added something special to your abilities in the game.

Except people would actually have to make it first, choose it, and it may screw everything else they made.

Also, who's ever heard of an Orc-Wizard..

ReBorn_Spirit 04-29-2005 02:47 AM

Well yes different race would mean you have different attributes.. that is the entire point I was getting at
maybe elves get like +1 to magic and like +2 dex
while the dwarves can get like -1 dex and +2 str and +1/+2 con (dont know)
humans would be well rounded with no modifications
and you could get like hobits that would need to eat faster because they do have a higher health regeneration rate...
Orcs are like the ultimate barbarian.. some ideas on that i cannot give.. i really dont know but deffinately deficient in magic/int

Orc Shamans, and apparently D&D 3rd Edition, Lineage2, and WoW have heard of them.
