Radio Scripting

I have a few songs that i own but i want them on my graal radion script on a server.

Songs: (Linkin Park Meteora {Hit the Floor}) , and a few others

Inspiration 04-03-2005 01:28 PM

I'm assuming these "songs" were not obtained through illegal P2P downloading programs.

Even though I will give you the benefit of the doubt, I have forwarded this thread to the FBI, and they may be scanning your computer for illegal material. I'd suggest deleting any such content ASAP.

These should not be played on Graal anyway. The songs are copyright.

I'm sure the FBI cares loads about illegal downloading of songs. :-/

csod123 04-03-2005 09:19 PM

You can use the "play" command to play URLs or local mp3s. You are not allowed to upload copyrigthed music to your server though.

Nah, really? You need like, 6 flags, because my staff decided that whenever someone should listen to a song, that they're be

Title:
Artist:
Album:
Year:
Genre:
DJ:

Use a string list.
Look up replacestring, addstring, removestring and deletestring, and the #I message code.

something like this:
setstring title,artist,album,year,genre,DJ
then you could use replacestring to replace certain indexes and such. or something.

Haha, I'm pretty sure that I own most of the 6.2 GB of music on my comp (subtracting the 326 MB from my iTunes songs). Although I think some of it might be burnt from my sister's CDs, and there might be five or six files from Kazaa that I never listen to. Probably Beethoven or some other artists that are in public domain. I don't know if Louis Armstrong is in public domain yet. Well, fifty years now (I keep on thinking a hundred), he should be. So I should be allowed to download some good 20s Jazz music onto my comp and it shouldn't be illegal. Mostly when I use Kazaa, it's to find missing .dlls. I also used it to get PowerDVD because my computer came with the wrong Master CD of software, so I couldn't play DVDs otherwise (although I still registered it with the serial stickered to the front of my computer).

Anyway, really, it is unhealthy to be so adherent to copyright issues unless they concern you, especially if there is no reason to be suspicious. 100% of the music that I own is on my computer. Somebody saying that they have a song on their computer is by no means suspicious. Why would you be such an advocate?

Xcessive54321 04-08-2005 02:14 AM

XD, i might be a admin of a server soon so i might need the script if they dont have any. and ill try to get some random music like they did for my forums a long time ago and they gave me some zelda music XD. i might put it back on my website.

Edit: or ill try to do the script on my own :cool:, and Jake dont double post XD

Album, year, and genre are going to far, its uneeded, and really people dont want to know. I was talking about a simple radio, not one with artist title, dj, etc...

StanislavHunter 04-10-2005 10:40 PM

I just set my radio up with the DJ's name and the song title. Just something simple. Who needs a cluttered screen?

coreys 04-11-2005 04:09 PM

My sentiments exactly. I only use the song title and a chat text that the dj can change.

Xcessive54321 04-11-2005 09:53 PM

i would like

-Titles
-DJ
and
-Genre

lol

xManiamaNx 04-11-2005 11:09 PM

server.radio=filename,songtitle,dj,genre
play filename;
showtext songtitle,dj,genre;

Obviously not the correct syntax, but thats basically what you have to do.

(yay no more posting for 8 hours)

Well, the fact that I replied to two different posts, that the posts actually had content, and that they were about 20 minutes apart, I don't consider it a double post.

p2p_Sir_Link 04-12-2005 01:08 AM

My staff needs a cluttered screen. All managers, seriously, check everything your staff uploads. Everything. Someone uploaded the graalonline heads to the head directory on my server.

It would actually have to be serverr.
Because server flags can't be accessed by the player, so the script wouldn't work. And then there's the tedious task of auto updating the song when the dj changes the song or title, or chat...really it only requires using for (i=0;i<allplayers;i++) and with(allplayers[i]) and then checking if they are listening to the radio.

May gawd have mercy on that server...

Instead of asking for scripts you should work your way up from the basics and take advice.

OasaTor_PK 04-14-2005 10:19 PM

For a radio script, its just like:
If (weaponfired) play url;

Lol, im such a leet scripter.

Depends. I use a DJ tool which I can give to players to DJ their own songs for others to listen to, and I have a seperate Radio script for the display on the main screen.
