Dustari Shield
 

Here is my attempt at a Dustari Shield, based on the representation of the Dustari flag, which I will include, for those who have not seen it. :o

That's pretty nice! Excellent job :)

I don't care if its Dustari's Flag or not -- it's butt ugly.

It's not bad, the shading isn't very good, and the crest on it shouldn't be so rounded, it's distorting the sword in the center. The top of it is too thing based on the width of the sides...

I did my own version, based on yours.

And... Amulet of Vitality with like, con+1 and regen +2 or something. :o

Unfortunately, someone a little higher ranking in the graalian society doesn't share your opinion. Bjorn and Stefan have claimed that the shield is "Too medieval." and "Not colorful enough." and similar statements, they seem to prefer the old one. For those who have not seen the old one, let's compare.

The old one was created during the reign of Sagesun, by a sagesun, and for sagesuns, and doesn't have anything to do with the kingdom of Dustari. They might as well have named it "Sagesun Shield", however, the new one, is based on the dustari's coat of arms, looks less like something in my little sister's coloring book, and is actually of a more realistic size, relevant to the size of the player.

I like the new one.....Put this new one as Dustari shield and use the old GFX for a new shield called the "Sagesun Shield"

It's hard to classify a shield as "too medievial" for a medieval fantasy. o.o I don't know how they came to that judgement. :o

That's what I said! :O Stefan was saying the same thing, make the new one for dustari, and the other one as an event shield. :o

I think its better than the existing Dustari shield. But, I think Zero Hour's was deffinately an improvement, as well.

Also, on the up facing sprite, you have the colors backwards, you should make the diagonal line going the other direction, as well.

The current Dustari Shield was made by Wren, during the reign of Jagen (we all know, if you don't HAHA). Of course, simular items later came abroad, and, well, to be frank, his broads seemed to of always had the items -- if not more contraversial, upgraded versions.

At any rate, it's ugly. Dustari's Coat of Arms is ugly. I'm used to the blue one, even though it sucks horrendous ballsack. Maybe if you tried to come up with your own colors of the shield, seeing as to how Dustari just seems to be a Mercernary Kingdom.. no real situated theme, color scheme, king.

Actually, dustari is based on what appears to be like a 13th-16th century european kingdom, I want to say english, but I can't be sure.

I think it's English, aswell.

Looks great, Raelyn. I only have one problem - the handle for the shield. Should be more of a handle and less of a door knob.

Keep in mind, that image sprite will be behind the player, no one will see it in that great of detail anyways. :) I mean, look at the old frost shield graphics and check out the handle on that one. ;)

I don't get you at all. You seem to think that I said Dustari has no theme at all -- rather I was adressing the current dustari as he is trying to remake a shield for the current dustari. You see?

My point is the graphics on GK aren't exceptionally high quality for you two to be having these little "hey I noticed something was wrong with the gfx!" things.

I'm not sure which specific graphics you're refering to, but I made a good portion of the alchemy graphics - and I made them in a rush. Besides, that's like saying "Well, I'm afraid most of our patients in this here fine hospital are going to die; I propose we do nothing for the healthier ones."

I'm well aware you aren't Jewish. ^^
