Make it like a BFG - Hold down for a larger stronger blast, but uses more energy and plasma cells.

That was along the lines I was thinking. One shot and reload, can charge for a maximum of 95 damage. when you fire it at a high power you're knocked backwards 2 feet and have to get up, rendering you vunerable.

Haro41 and I passed this back and forth until it looked like this. I also attached the plasma cell, the ammo it uses.

How should the "bullets"/plasma look like? The 4 plasma sprites are for being displayed on the rifle when shooting or are they for the bullet ?

It's not all his. I said we passed it back and forth. Most of that's mine anyway. He had it looking like a super soaker with a lightsaber sticking out. He told me not to put his name on it e.e

The first one is the shot, and the other 3 are for when it hits something, while charging the first sprite should appear at the end of the gun and should gradually get bigger. The plasma cell should be for the shop. I didn't know the supported size, tell me if I need to resize it.

In response to the charge up: Why not use something like the plasma pistol on Halo, when you charge it up and fire, the gun is overheated for a couple seconds so you cannot fire.

Well... after charged up you fly backward and can't even move, but the overloaded gun might be an even better idea. Then again they could just charge a shot, run and fire again... I'de have to get more opinions on this matter.

Ok I have made the ganis etc and tested it, will enable it tomorrow (tuesday). We need to decide about which classes should get the plasma rifle.

Definetly NOT commando. They already have too much to worry about. Possibly Light Infantry or Defender though. Actually, I think Sapper should be the only class with it. Nobody uses sapper so I think with the addition of the Plasma Rifle they might actually be a satisfying class.

You cant choose what weapon a class should get without testing the weapon first. I figured you guys wouldve figured that one out. I mean, you can place it in any class, but you cant pick the right class without testing the weapon first.


EDIT: Plasma Rifle has been released and added to the marine class.

Marines? Don't they already have enough weapons? Sapper is a class noone wants to use. I think Plasmarifle also fits the class name and would also give players reason to choose Sapper.

They have too many weapons. Mortar, Pulsar, Shotgun, Kr90, Chaingun... Sapper does need more weapons though.

Hmm, cool...
Had to take a break from Atrius so I was browsing the forums and found this... and decided to make something based on yours.
This one includes a spinning "electron" on the bullet, white muzzle flares, and sprites for shooting/reload (does zone have reload?). I don't play zone so I wouldn't know much about its style, this is probably too shiny or something but it was just for fun.

Looks cool :) What should be the name, stats, behaviour ?
For new weapons we will also need to make up new ideas, like a graviation weapon which lets you move other players.

OMG!!! Ueber Gravity Gun from the end of Half-Life 2 type? It should look like the gravity gun from HL2...its cool looking...

Yes why not, it would make the game more interesting if there are more types of weapons

W00t!Tell me the gravity gun is being added. And that graphic above of the spinnig electron thingy looks amazing. That has to be added as a reward in a one player mission. (sorry im pretty much obsesed about 1p zone, its in about %90 of my posts)

lol, if a gravity gun were put in, would you be able to move teammates out of danger? and if you can move people, how far could you move them? or maybe we could have it to where when you shoot them they're stuck in the air for like 10-20 sec. and can not be shot, and they also can't shoot,..............maybe.........?
