it's not for graal, just a test kinda, well, if anyone has any input it would be gladly accepted as long as it's not useless.
edit ok i remade it i think the handle looks better along with the ruby thing, but i still dunno about the blade |
Semi-decent... The shading isn't really done well, and if you're going with a limit you can also use dithering.
|
Well the overall shape is okay, but I agree that the shading is the problem. I can't really tell how the blade itself is supposed to be shaded, you should pick a lighting source and work from there. You could also use one more bright color on the handle to give it more depth, the pearl especially.

thank you, people at maloria said it was bad :(

Gradient is when one color smoothly blends into another by putting many similar colors in between. Usually its done by a program, such as using a paintbrush vs. a pencil tool. It's mainly frowned upon in the pixel art community.
Dithering is also one color blending into another, but its done with only two colors. The trick is to put the blended color every other pixel to create the illusion of mixing. It's hard to describe but it should be very easy to find out what I'm talking about. I used a bit of it on the upper portion of the wings in my signature, but there's much better examples elsewhere. The advantage of dithering is that it saves colors and makes smaller file sizes. |
A gradient is a smooth transition of light to dark or dark to light, be it in black and white or any color.
Dithering it a technique of pixelation. Its basically where you aline pixels in a way so that it appears that there are more colors in the image than they really are when you look back at it. |

The image I posted here is an example of dithering. Here are some tutorials concerning gradients and concerning dithering.
