Global Look

I suggest a page on the website that allows the player to change his or her look that will automatically be set on servers that he or she doesn't already have any colors/head/body stuff set. Incase some servers don't want it, they could have something like a server option for globallook=false or something like that. I hate having to find all the commands on every server to make my guy look how I want.

Sounds semi-useful, but mostly silly.

What use would that be?

That would be alright i guess. But why go through the trouble to do all that. Besides you would have to have like a little model of what you would like. Besides that is a waste of time. And plus it would be anoying because when you set everything you want and you don't have high speed internet it would take a little bit for the website to reload. But good thinking. It makes me want to think of like how you have rp on websites and all that fun stuff like gaia ^^.

:/

It's useful for people, like me, who use the same look on all servers. Obviously, everyone else need not use it. Thus, the problem of how many people would actually use it versus how difficult it may be to create.

I just don't see the point. The Graal website used to have a "SEe the heads" view, but I'm not sure if it's there anymore, and servers usually have head setter NPCs and such. It's just useless. If your talking about new GFX that players make, it'd be way to laggy, plus people add GFX everyday, and that GFX may not be uplaoded to a certain server. It's just a bad idea in my opinion.

it would be ok but its not like a must have just write your bodys/heads/shields down in a word pad doc...

You mean to say you wouldn't use plain text?

I do agree that it would be nice, but it is not necessary.

Slash-P2P 03-13-2005 05:40 AM

I'm not saying something to remember your look. I'm saying you go into a page on the website, create a character, and if you log on a server for the first time, you wont look like a noob but instead your character. Or if you want to look the same on all servers.
It's not necessary but it would be nice.
This isnt an image uploader either...

For the stupid people:
*open globallook.php or something*
*type in the head number / image*
*type in the body number / image*
*type in shield image*
*type in sword image*
*use drop down list for colors*
*click OK*
*log onto server never been on before*
omg i dont look like a noob!

Skyld 03-13-2005 02:44 PM

And surely there would be servers that do not have specific shields, swords, heads, or body images and then you have wasted your time setting up this wonderful script that doesn't produce the desired effect.

Crono 03-13-2005 02:49 PM

I dont like this idea, makes tailors look useless :[

Darlene159 03-13-2005 04:58 PM

The only way this would even work is with global graphics, so why bother? I think most people use stuff on specific servers which aren't uploaded on other servers.
