While I was a member of a kingdom I didn't always RP on tag, and I enjoyed RPing quite a bit back then. I was , none the less, a valuable member based on my skills.

My post was asking for the motivation of making this particular thread, not why the said person cares.

I just want a new goverment.. this is lazy.. every newcomer in Forest/Dustari/Zormite Replubic would know this rule... Samurai and CP needs a new leader..

Not RPing on tag is something entirely different than blunt-out saying 'lololol' as a kingdom leader and in one of the most crowded areas of GK. It's almost as bad as saying 'LOL' in a RP event *cough*Nayoko*cough*.

You fall under the category of having blaringly obvious poor feelings towards the kingdoms, aswell. You're a frickin' RP Zealot and it's more annoying than having bamboo shoved under my nails, and sharpened bamboo stalks tear through my back over a long period of growth.

I think that if you want to be a RP Zealot the better way to get results would be to do it privately, not lay on your back on the virtual floor and to kick and scream.

I'm not being that zealous at all. It isn't much to ask for kingdom leaders to RP at times and not use lol excessively.

I understand GoLink's argument here. However, it's not really a rule for members to be RPing while on tag, so... what can you do?
Also, making it a rule so that everyone RP's as much as GoLink (based on the screenshot) and myself do isn't as easy as it sounds- it's something involving an effort between all the kingdom leaders.

I also understand the idea of not RPing at trade tables- though I myself continue with standard RPing procedures no matter where I am on tag (using parenthesis), but I still understand and think it has sense to it...

While it would be fantastic for GK to improve its RPing, CP should not be removed. That will not fix anything. It would even sadden many RPers to see this. When I'm on CP tag, I RP 100% of the time, using all OOC text in parenthesis (I take it easy and use single set these days). At least 90% of the time I'm on GK, I'm on CP tag. So there are people RPing. I've RPed with some before joining CP. One guy was surprised to see a fellow RPer when him and I were killing T-Rexes in the dungeons.

I think Alan isn't doing too bad of a job as Governor. There have been worse cases of leadership. However, RPing could definitly improve throughout CP as well as throughout all of GK.

Finally, as GoZelda pointed out, a game doesn't become a dictatorship simply by having rules.

One problem with RPing rules is that if CP were to set up strict rules for RPing, people would simply go to other kingdoms where they don't have to follow kingdom rules, but instead rules related to non-RPing such as "no scamming". The membership would go down by a lot. CP would seem to be dying away... Also, there'd be problems with the few members of CP when they interact with other players in other kingdoms who you would expect to be RPing IC.

Alan, there is one thing I'd definitly like to see fixed though: Members going around on CP tag saying things such as "RP is stupid", "RPing is lame", etc. I think someone has even posted a screenshot of this. I even took a screenshot of seeing this myself, but didn't show it to anyone.

I'm sure you can't crack down on every person, but it does seem bad to have Anti-RPers in the pirate kingdom.

I'm not in a kingdom, I came back to Graal last month but this is ridiculous. Jeez, what happend to the good ole "Har har har" days? I guess those died along with GP. Being a pirate used to be fun... it's a shame that no one roleplays, but especially ashame that these guys don't carry on the good ole' Pirate tradition. It all starts with the leaders, if they don't RP or act the part then no one will.

I'm always RPing when on tag. Like I said, I'm usually on tag when playing GK.
Also, I still find fun in being a pirate. It just brings me down to see certain people do or say certain things.

The RPing problem is everywhere on GK though (except maybe Forest? They did have a long time of barely recruiting anyone, so that helps...).

We have some very competent RP leaders in Pirates, and there's a few
scurvy bilge rats that har har, conduct raids, drink rum and make their
enemies walk the plank with the best of em. And we have instituted RP
trainer roles to improve the RP skills of the younger players. However,
the truth is that the majority of players today aren't interested in RP
and have to be encouraged and trained to RP at all. So we have a
policy in CP that RP is enouraged, but not mandatory. That's a good
balance to make the kingdom fun while we work towards a stronger
RP focus.

If Draven has a problem with lol'ing on tag, then it's a good thing he's
not in Pirates and I encourage him to find a kingdom with stricter RP
rules that are a better fit for what he wants to do on GK.

Then why are they in a kingdom? And more importantly why are you recruiting them? Seems to me like kingdoms just want numbers now a days.

And honestly, RPing as a pirate is the easiest out of all the kingdoms.

I miss Peg Leg, Dragus Caur or something (DragonX), Armored Ear, Jagen, GP, etc. Those were fun days back on 2k1.

That's pretty interesting, because I don't remember saying anything on Pirate-related matters, only that the odd little out of character comment wasn't that bad, although I will admit... this was a little far :P
That's all I was getting at, unless this is only with CP, which I doubt.
