Most people on Zone look a ton alike. We need some more graphics for customizing a character. Recolors are ok but we need more originals. I attached to quick hair recolors that would fit in with the zone style.

Nice job @ recoloring.

I've done more than recolors. May I remind you of the R50? I'm gonna make some sort of rifle next...

Gambet 03-10-2005 03:42 AM

The R51 looked like roller blades to me -.-

I have to say that your small works are not that impressive and that the images in your signature have many, many flaws. If you would like to see very professional pixelation work I suggest you participate at pixelation forums, http://web1.t43.greatnet.de/ . Otherwise keep practicing your graphic skills rather than aiming for such a high position.

Any help for gfx is welcome, please don't demotivate the people who want to help :/ The R51 looks quite nice in-game

You cant expect people to be perfect at what they do without practice. You should remember that most images look better in-game then the actual graphic itself. The R51 image looks like a pair of roller blades, but in-game it looks quite nice. Criticism is expected, but dont bring down a person to a point where it may hurt their feelings. Yes, I agree that there are people out there that can do a better job, but atleast he's trying to give a helping hand.

All help is wanted, and all help is appreciated.

Just keep practicing and one day you may surpass those who surpass you today.

I have no intention of demotivating anybody.

I told him "Otherwise keep practicing your graphic skills rather than aiming for such a high position."
If my opinion is blunt then I have stated it in this manner for a purpose.

I'm pointing out that nobody gets to the top by assuming themselves at that level. Allowing Akoalin to continue this idea would only be deceitful. I'm glad that everybody here wants to remain positive, as I do, but sometimes a nudge in the right direction means a bit of a letdown at some points during a journey. I never said his graphics were pointless, only that the graphics fail to meet the standard he has set himself at. Should I ever encounter this situation, I would take a comment such as mine to be a sign rather than an insult. The public is who is seeing my work and if the public disagrees with my opinion I'd rather know than be pushed along a wrong path.

To simplify my assumptions, I'll state that somebody who believes they are at a high level will cease to have a motivation to become better, whereas a lower leveled person will strive for an upcoming goal. This is the level I wish for Akoalin to place himself.

This is true to an extent. If you raised a child with only compliments he will fail in life. The truth is that we live in a competitive world and if you fall when a criticism bestows you, you will never achieve. If I have to be the one to deliver this reality then so be it, but I'd rather see him stumble than continue to express his potential at the stage he sees himself in.

And all of this is not to say that my work is any better than his, but I realize that my improvement depends on the beatings my graphics get rather than a consistent flow of compliments.

Very well said.
