Insecure IP Range Error

I just got a PW today, and like 4 hours ago I sat my IP in the Admin Panel website thingy. Everytime I try to connect to RC it says "Insecure IP Range"

I've tried
#.*.*.*
#.#.*.*
#.#.#.*
and
#.#.#.#

None work. Any help?

OH! and its Playerworld97

If i remember correctly, you can only have a MAX of 2 stars in an IP, but i dont think it would effect a Admin-Playerworld account so #.*.*.* should've worked

I would suggest, logging onto your Playerworld Administrative Panel again and make the IP default '*.*.*.*'
If that doesnt work im sure it's a bug that Stefan needs to fix.

Do you know your IP? log on to your playerworld if you have another account and check your attributes. If that fails goto http://www.whatismyip.com :)

I think it is returning an error if you have an IP set on your admin account on RC. So PM/E-mail me and I can change it (if it's similar to the current IP there).

Sadly I think there are a few bugs in this system. I have a spare account that I have been using for Debug for a couple years now (originally global accounts were not able to access debug so I was given a special account with access ONLY to debug), and it was set to adminlevel1. So when I got on admin panel and set an IP, it didn't really stick. It just stayed there and looked like it was, but it let me get on Debug where I had no IP set, and if I was at a friend's house it always let me on, as in it never checked it. Now on my global (Projectshifter) account it has always worked and such. But I think the system isn't working the way it was planned. I had a guy come to me, he gave me his admin account and pass to try to set it myself, and I set it properly for him repeatedly in admin panel, but it didn't update it locally in his rights, which is the problem. Not sure if this is a Robert or Stefan thign, but willing to be Robert could fix it considering he's tapped into the DB through a firewire cable to his left arm ;) Anyway, so that seems to be what's going on and a few people claim to be able to work it, while some don't seem to be able to, such as myself.

You mean it is checking the global ip range AND the local ip range of the admin-account before it accepts the RC-login? Will need to check that

I think you are correct for some part. But on my Debug account (you know which I speak of) I have a global range set, but it doesn't check that at all. I can get on it from anywhere even though it's set to a small range, and it works. I think in the case of this it is checking the local range rather than the global range for the admin accounts as well. Plus once they set the IP for the global range on the admin accounts, if they're not on that range they would be locked out of ADCP tool.

It's the holidays, and a lot of people are on vacation. Also Spark is quite busy with family things, my IP is bunked, plus I don't have rights to change IPs and such unless someone gives it to me locally =/

Okay I found out Spark has to set the IP on my RC for me, thats just great you'd think this was AUTOMATTED or not IMPLAMENTED at all(IMO). So heres my message to spark:

Can you set my RC on my playerworld(Playerworld97) to let me on!!! My IP is 204.116.*.* Its been 2 days now, long enough. Please let me on. Thanks, Jake.

I can't seem to do it on new playerworlds.
But yeah, it should be automated, but for some reason it's not working correctly, that will need to be fixed.

EDIT: Added you to the list on Debug, next time Stefan logs on he should see it, and if not if I see unixmad I will ask him for it.

falco10291029 12-28-2004 09:08 PM

Projectshifter can't right now for me because his IP isn't set either (what a coincidence, huh), so spark, I emailed you a new one (that is undoubtedly outdated) a long time ago...my current one is: 69.214.*.*, playerworld Elemental Kingdoms.

PS got his IP fixed, so see if he can do it.

alright i'll ask him next time he's on, and if he refuses, brain control ^^

That would be some business that:
(1) Hasn't communicated like we have. We have told you it can't be fixed for some time, and not left you in the blue. We are communicating.
(2) Doesn't offer your onlinetime to be re-added for the down time, which is very likely to be done.
(3) Doesn't ever fix it, like we will.

And for the record its been six days, not a week.
