Server Merger
 

Codename Element will be merging with Bravo Evolved!

The staff of the two servers (mostly Mystical Dragon and myself) will be working out the details, but we are planning on combining parts of both servers (don't worry - it wont be modern).

Explain the parts more specifically.

I guess Glub will be making some graphics such as tiles for the new server. Most of the server will be Element but some things like tree graphics will be transferred over.

I just don't like the idea because it means that there is one less server I am working on. Unless I could like split into 2 people and work twice as much o_O
I also wanted to have a modern server that I made really nice but also a RP/Classic server that i made nice...
Now I can't get both of those.

If your calling either of the servers bad, I suggest you make sure your server is better than one of them.


As of now, Element will stay the same but some things (such as events and quests) from Bravo will be put on the server. We wil also have double the staff so projects can be done much quicker. Bravo is sitting on the server list doing nothing and this is better than nothing ever happening.

I personally hate modern servers because no matter what you do, newbies associate guns with Era and Era only. I bet you all agreed modern Bravo was different than Era, yet I still received PMs/Mass Messages from people complaining that the server was a rip off of Era. Until these *****s are mature, I don't want to work on a modern server and listen to the complaining.

Some of you people think that its going to be a modern and RP server. ITS NOT. Its basically Element with events, quests, some tiles, etc... from Bravo.
It might also be Bravo with certain things from Element.

Well there's still going to be 2 servers left right? Maybe 1 could be Bravo with element mixed in, and the other could be the opposite. Unless one of them is deleting the server then there could be 2 products right? Sorry if I am wrong.

Yes. There will be 2 servers.
Both servers will be backed up before the merger, then bravo will be used to host the merged server on. Since Bravo was created before the hosting plan, it doesn't need to be payed for annually/bi-anually. We will use bravo's server for the main server (so it will be up longer) and we an use element's server for a development server (where all the staff are on). Only the high staff (ServerOPs) will have access to the main server (like Graal Kingdoms and Debug). Since a development server isnt really needed much, we will use it until it runs out and decide whether or not to spend the money on another 6 months or a year.

Whoa, bad idea. If you want to merge, just be in charge of both seperate servers.

Yeah, a development serve is more or less pointless if staff are only allowed on the main, you can just use that, plus if they merge and bravos taff work on element, you'll have it classic soon and wont pay for that either

Yeah. I won't have to pay for a gserver, and I am still deciding whether or not to pay for a server that isn't really needed...You know that servers on the hosted plan that go classic still have to pay, right?

Yes you still have to pay. The current playerworlds don't pay because all of them are older than the PW Hosting system.

That stinks.... I was hoping to only have to pay until EK went classic, but I geuss by the time it does I will have sufficiently more income and will be able to afford a yearly payment until they decide to make those servers not pay :-/

You might not have to pay if your server because popular AND goes to classic. Like meaning it draws new people onto graal.

Yeah but I doubt you would get your server hosted for free.

No, but you might be able to get donations from people towards keeping the server up if it's popular enough.

Someone offered to pay for my server if he got RC.
I will be setting up a donation system soon. I would do it now but I hate doing PayPal stuff.

Yeah but I'm not giving out RCs for people paying for my server. Its too much of a hassle, and it doesnt seem right.

If you people would like to donate, I will set up donations on PayPal and you can donate whatever you want.

I need to learn how to do that, and get my parents to set me up a paypal, to get donations for EK.

Its simple but annoying. You log into paypal and find the donations part. You have to email verify a bunch of times before you can get donations set up :\

Please explain how eatheir Bravo or Element is a "bad" server. I assume your talking about Bravo, and alot of hard work and origionality went into that server, and I believe it was alot better then anything you could produce. Just because some people don't like it doesn't make it a bad place to play. I am sure there are plenty others (like myself) who enjoyed playing Bravo. So please shut up.

The problem with Bravo was, that so many staff did their own small projects and combined it into one big one. It was still the same themed idea, just mixed up, and didn't follow right. Yes, a lot of work was put into Bravo, was a great place, just not so organized. I think we all wanted it out on public that we didn't take time xD.
