Attitude Change

Due to a very recent PM/E-mail by unixmad saying that he'll ban me if I continue the negative comments, I'm sadly going to have to change my attitude. Yes folks, that means that I will no longer be able to express my opinions and such freely and will have to be a goody goody. Sorry to let you down, friends.

Not like I have a choice. I guess it's for the better...:whatever:

calum 09-05-2004 10:44 PM

Nooooooooooo! It's your attitude that makes you, you. Your one of the only people that isn't...*wasn't afraid of freedom of speech.

Myomoto 09-05-2004 11:01 PM

Wtf? These boards need a bit of negativiti :(

Spark910 09-05-2004 11:22 PM

Well, if he didn't I would have. Your posts are very negative. You know English which is a gift, as it's not your primary language. Use it usefully. (Unless they all speak english in Sweden). You've even done it in this post, allow me to edit it for you.

Scott 09-05-2004 11:27 PM

Negative comments are not allowed? So this isn't a Forum anymore, just a place where people have to Praise Graal. :)

Gambet 09-05-2004 11:27 PM

Gerami, you do tend to post a lot of negativity in just about every thread.

No, but read above.

Monkeyboy_McGee 09-05-2004 11:35 PM

NOOOO! You may take our land! you may take our lives! But you will never take...OUR FREEDOOOOOOOOOOME.

That is ****ing bull****e, yo.
And there are plenty more asterisks where they came from, yo.

Erm...He used to live in Texas or something then moved to Sweden, so English is his primary language.

osrs 09-06-2004 12:27 AM

In some of yours posts you act like an idiot, don't take it as offense please, but becoming mature isn't that bad.

Damix2 09-06-2004 12:59 AM

I just don't see why you would need to post this, if you want to make an impression that you have cleaned up, then just start posting like it. I hate when I see these kind of threads like "I'm sorry for the way I've treated everyone" If you really mean, just do it.

The only thing this thread does is make unixmad seem the villian, which I'm guessing is your point.

ride free Gerami!

I too dislike some of the negativity on these boards but threating and forceing people to act "nice" is not the way to go. They should act kind and nice only because they want to, not because they are being forced to. I do not like people being negative but I will always respect their right to be able to say what they feel/want to say.

You have the right to, but not on private servers.

The problem here is the fact that while some negativity isn't a bad thing, being negative all the time and being rude and offensive is not a good thing and has to be punished.

Yeah lol, I respect peoples right to be able to say what they feel/want to say. I dont however always respect what they say. I suppose if they dont stop after being asked to you should punish the person.

Zero Hour 09-06-2004 02:11 AM

[EDIT](Gerami's)[/EDIT]Your opinions are usually nothing more than broken sentences with little to no point. The majority of time your posts are a few words long, and are hardly even on subject.

I give Unixmad my compliments.

That's all I'll say, as I'm sure my e-mail has one of those lovely e-mails. in-which, I'll reply with a polite "**** yourself"

Zero Hour 09-06-2004 04:29 AM

If you ignore the first 4-5 posts in this link, you will see exactley what I'm talking about (:

Looky here.

Crono is the perfect perosn for the boards. If you can't deal with what some people say stop posting altogether.

It's hard to deal with people that isn't happy with the things you produce, i'm not talking directly about Crono, but it's pretty sad to see that some people are always complaining about something that you made. Suggestions or constructives complainings are so far better.

Brad 09-06-2004 05:31 AM

oh god ive gotten dozens of those crono

theyre false threats

worst theyll do is a week or two ban since they cant perma ban you for just being a nuisance to them

brad is an expert in the area of forum bans.

Goodspeed 09-06-2004 03:43 PM

I think you guys are blowing this all out of proportion.

Crono 09-06-2004 04:50 PM

The thing is, freedom of speech and opinion was the thing I supported and posted for. I never liked being oppressed but after a recent threat i have to make it clear to people that it wasn't my choice to change. That and I want to also show you other Graalians just how "mean" (no more negativity :/) some staff can get.

I was basically FORCED to change or else it meant a ban. People knew me as those negative posts because my posts were unfiltered. Now everything I say is filtered if you look at it in an aspect. <-- Another reason why I felt that I needed to make this perdy thread.

Note-I was born in Sweden, grew up in Texas, moved back to Sweden. That's how it works.

That, dude, is bullcrap. When graalians produce things, they get lots and lots of compliments, or quite a lot of constructive criticism, and in one or two cases a bucketload of gutless suckups.
What they don't get a lot of is negativity, people expressing their negative opinions. If they can't deal with the small amount then it is their problem for being such goddamned pansies.

If you don't want to be weighed, get the **** off the scales.

protagonist 09-06-2004 05:39 PM

I saw Gerami do, among other things, flame another user in the PW forums.

That could have contributed to his warning.

But it was an appropiate flame. If, say, Bin Laden was to nuke the US and signed up on the Graal forums you WOULD flame him. I know that as a fact. No different between the two. When I flame, the person deserves it and basically called for it.

A small quantity of negativity is torelable, but not a bunch. Some people just complain about everything, even if something is perfect they look for something to say a bad comment. :\

GoZelda 09-06-2004 10:08 PM

This is even more ridiculous then 'offensive opinions'

What im saying is that a person doesn't get a bunch. In most threads which you see negative stuff, there is about one or two people saying negative things (with two exceptions), and a lot of people either agreeing or giving help/criticism.

(the two exceptions are if the guy really is a ***** and deserves negativity, or the negative people are *****ic and are just flaming that particular guy in every thread he makes...which doesn't happen a lot.)

About the first exception you pointed, it's not that hard to find people like that around this community.

That's opinionated of course, but you must often think this way then as you post alot of negativity and pointless stuff, as someone else said.

I don't know of another MMORPG where it has a forum as a community - most are just game-only talk. But this has a NGR-Place, the reason for all the problems if you ask me.

Myomoto 09-06-2004 11:10 PM

But these boards have had a community since 01' (or whenever they where started) :(

Then why're you having a go at people for giving those barrys the negativity they deserve? e.e

zs0 09-06-2004 11:27 PM

You guys are so ****ing hypocritical, you complain about flaming then go off and flame yourselves. Just shut the hell up and get a long. He made a thread that he was going to settle down, you don't need to get him back to 'negative' version of himself. :)

Most MMORPGS dont have forums such as this. You're forgetting that Graal does indeed suck if you look at it and it's the community keeping it alive. If you didnt have the NGRT (by the way you just said something racist and it was supposed to be spelt differently, not "ngr") then this forum would be dead and no one would post here. I think unixmad knows this.

What, on the planet Earth, have you witnessed that's perfect so far? I, for one, cannot say that I've seen any of the such. This isn't a flame, but more a harsh reality, that you are sucking up? Why? I don't know.

On another note, negativity is needed in this world. It is the many differring opinions that help the world make adjustments to society. If there were no negative thoughts expressed, there would be no change in the world. Let's say that Graal was in the developmental stages, and Stefan was hard at work, but he ran out of ideas, and say, I came along and made a suggestion that the game is too plain offline, with not enough action, and I told him that he could make it better if he could include an online mode as well. Now if he takes my negative thoughts about the game (onesidedly) and tells me off, since I didn't approve of just having an offline mode, he would be dead wrong. Now, if he takes my negativity with some optimism, and realizes that I am not being negative, as I am giving some constructive criticism, he then would be in the appropriate frame of mind, and he can do what he wishes to with my ideas.

Bottom line is, negativity should not be a moddable offense, unless it is 100% meaningless, and is just used to be rude, or hateful of someone or something, with no offers of other suggestions on how to improve <insert topic here>.

INCORRECT
ie: GraalOnline with just offline mode sucks!!

CORRECT
ie: GraalOnline could be better if it included an online environment, for players to enjoy.
