May we host our own playerworlds?

Hi,
I was wondering if we may host our playerworlds instead of paying 55$ / 6 month.
I found nothing in the forum saying that soooo... please answer >.<

No, you can not.

I dont believe you can. If it were possible, well, then the Linux company would be losing a lot of profits just by Graal. If you want your own server, then you'll have to rent one which as you know includes an RC, Admin Account, and your very own NPC-Server. So, you cant host your own server, the Linux company would do that for you.

No point on complaining really, its just how business is.

I think you can purchase the software or whatever and do that... It's on the Cyberjouer company website somewhere. Just look around. I remember seeing it there.

It was previously offered, but is no longer.

A long time ago, you could pay hundreds of dollars a year to host your own gserver. Now you pay a mere hundred to have it hosted for you.

Ok, thats answering my question, Thanks all!

They would have no expenses to lose money on.

Not previously, I recently seen it on the site.

I heard from somebody long ago when i found that site the licencing was to use Graal itself with your own customer base and sell your own subscriptions. You just rented rights to the software and the software itself from Cyberjouers... Somewhere in the area of 5,000 per year was a figure mentioned... But none of that was from Cyberjouers reps, and i was by told by somebody else later it's no longer available.

Reading what I said would be a pretty nifty idea.

thrashsoul 09-03-2004 03:37 AM

They should let hosting companies buy like 1,000 dollar licences for it.

Amagius 09-03-2004 04:33 AM

Warez it.

HoudiniMan 09-03-2004 10:42 AM

no actually when it was first released they had it setup to where you're IP address was your host and if you ran Gserver, people could login, it came WITH GRAAL so it wasn't illegal
