Peacefull fisherman house (japanese style)
 

This is my work so far on a half iso japanese fisherman house, I plan to make a mountain in the background, and add shadows from the house etc.
But I need some advice and help on the grass,
also, I need to make a path from the stair of the house to the bottom exit of the image.

So, any tips on making grass anyone?

I was gonna add a hole in the roof to lead out smoke from a fire inside, should I shorten it also?

I like it, but, is the blue space a river or the sky?

It is gonna be the lake/river, it will be clearer when the sky will be put up, and a mountain in the background, also should I add little boat in distance?
Edit: I might also add some puffs of smoke getting carried away by the wind to ilustrate it even more ;O

About the mailbox house, which look better?

None, I barely see any difference.

They go short the lower the numbers, atleast tell me what to do difrent ;O

That house doesn't really has a japanese style, at least i never saw something like that, try making it with another style. Somehow, your pixeling pleases me.

We got a copy of a house like that in a japanese garden near where I live, and it look almost like that, altough it has two roof plates, I'll see if I can add them, maybe a darker frame surounding the house too?

Edit: added roof, not too sure I'm ver pleased with it yet though...

Also, what smoke stould I pick? cloudy or realistic (don't mind the current ones, they are NOT the ones that are gonna stay.)

Realistic, but make it look less like a hen house/letterbox.

If its isometric, shouldnt the angles be like "\/" instead of "_/" ??

So you'd be working on a repeating diamond shaped grid rather than a repeating parallelogram shaped grid.

I think it's pretty darn good.

I like it.
One thing I might suggest to make it less
letter-boxy is to use other colors on the roof.
Of course, I'm no expert on Japanland housing and such,
so I don't know if this would stray too much from what you
are looking to achieve.

Looks nice, but your house style isn't well observed, as previously noted.
Probably be better off with this kind of style

Anyway, I got bored and worked on the background, and I'm pretty pleased (although I might have to ligthen the trees a bit..), BUT I have yet again returned for help, because I just can't get the shadow from the house right, and the grass is still bothering me, so help up yo'!

Edit: oh, and the little black thing on the mountain is a temple ;)

Perhaps you should change the material of the roof to make it less hen-house like.

Added some roof things, don't know their name, so now atleast, it's a japanese henhouse?

I'm loving it so far. Would be more much more cool if it was traditional isometric, but that's fine. :) I'm not too fond of the colors chosen for the house, ah well. Cool beans Myo.

Yeah, I'm gonna recolor it, but it will remain green, it's some kind of waterproof covering stuff that got the color I think :O
