Disconnection from not moving

I suggested this to Lance and he seemed to like the idea.

You ever leave Graal Idle and come back to find you've been disconnected from not moving? Good. In my opinion you shouldn't idle. Then I thought, "Hmm I wonder if there was a way we could customize the time in Serveroptions..." So I went and told Lance my idea and he seemed to like it very much.

I guess what can be done is that there could be a minimum time already set up thru Graal so people dont abuse it and put like 1 minute.. and a maximum so people dont set the time for like 10 years 43 days and 12 hours. So I was thinking the Minimum could be 10 minutes and the Maximum could be the current Idle disconnection time, or around 30 minutes. Posts your thoughts! I for one don't like idlers ;)

Personally, I see no sense in it
Meaning, I dont think there is anything wrong with the disconnection process of how it is set now

I like the idea but also keep in mind that I'm the kind of LAT who stays online and offline while working. Sometimes i go idle for over 30 minutes.

Well as I said before, its just an idea that came to my head Crono, cant be perfect just at the first thought ;) Some other stuff would be needed to be customized maybe accounts in the staff list are granted more time.

As I recal from my scripting days this can be scripted with hardly no trouble.

At the time it was considered bad as only some classic playerworlds were supposed to have free online time (top 3/5) - but it's all classic playerworlds now, so it's a bit pointless.

I don't see how reclaiming network bandwidth from inactive players is pointless. :)

The only place and time I would like to see not get disconnected is when I am praying . Sometimes its a long and arduous task when blessing a lot of items. Perhaps as long as you are actually praying you do not get disconnected for 20-30 minutes?

Dont you press buttons to pray? And that is GK, we're talking about Graal in general...

Note-I dont think it considers you idle if you press buttons.

URBANLEGEND 08-21-2004 07:42 PM

ok. Someone said something about being a lat and idling? If you in the server options you dont get the idle rule, only players do..

I like this idea its very interesting indeed. I like it.

I dont know if you were directing that statement to me or not, but I edited my post to say what I meant, as it could have been taken either way :\

I was replying to Spark, who had called it pointless.

Anyway, I don't see a problem with letting managers specify a shorter amount before people are logged-off.

Shorter: yes.
Longer: no.
