Magic targeting system
We are all familiar with the current method of targeting players and monsters to cast your spells directly at them, or at least most of us are, anyway. Well...that method bloody sucks, if you ask me. Ever tried locking onto another player with 5 speed, while trying to avoid his attacks? It's damned near impossible, and very very dangerous if you miss. Although there are one or two ways to do it easily, they are still fairly risky and such.
My proposal is to make spell targeting a point,click,fire affair. So: You point your mouse over a player, you click on the player, it targets the player (displaying the message "<accountname> targeted!") and you can then fire spells at your leasure. To un-target someone you can simply click on empty space, or on another target ;) This'd be so damned useful, i tell ya, it'd take some of the edge away from the fact that casting spells takes forever. |

-.- Targeting doesn't help if the higher end spells are still too slow... It wont help fight against the 5 speed guy that runs about 5 times faster than the bullets.

I have dual RoWs, base 20 Dex, base 20 Str, Forest Shield, and Glok Belt
I can drop all my items save for those and still only go at 3.7 |
You need a good 28 str / dex for 4.6

It's already possible to target spells at specific players or npcs. All following casts of the same spell will be directed on the same character then. The only problem is that the targetting is complicated especially when the target is moving fast, and the projectile/spell is always flying the same speed no matter how fast the target moves. The spell casting could probably be changed to automatically target an object if it's front of you (and it's not a friendly player). We were planning to improve the targetting when throwing stuff (pots, stones, spears, tridents), so we could may be do the two things at once.
