I have seen stuff much worse.

But at least you have a good attitude.
While they aren't exactly good, they aren't bad at all for a beginner.

I suggest searching the forums, and looking at some of the levels that got good ratings. You can use some ideas from them. It looks here that you just tried to use big buildings to take up space.

Keep up the hard work. :)

Personally I dislike that raised stuff on the ground... but it's still a good level for a start off as you have used a wide range of tileset parts, and done some not so easy stuff for a beginner.

You're doin pretty well for a beginer. Keep it up.

I don't like that style of level at all. I can see your'e a Delterian. =P
But um, it looks good. Keep it up!

Ahh..I'm bored. I'll help you out. =)
Old school.
----
First Level

Pros-

1.Your original path.
It doesn't look so great, but with a little work I'm sure you can turn it into something nice.

2.Your use of tables.
I dunno, I always like tables you can sit down in levels. I hate levels where I cant sit down and take a smoking break.

Cons-

(There will more of these, since Cons help you more...=P )
1.The Tile errors in the fence.
You may want to fix those, its real simple. It doesn't look so great with a connector poking into the air. =P Also, if you randomize your fences a little bit more, you get a cool broken effect..inwhich I think is attractive. Like this:

2.The raised ground.
That stuff can look good, but it has to be in small amounts, and it has to be in a more random fashion. Instead of making squares, make shapes more like this:
http://nullworx.com/graal/raised.bmp

3.Building size.
The buildings itself are covered in minor tile errors that can be fixed if you just look through your tileset. It'd also be cool if you add some defenition to your roofs.(Is Roofs a word? >D)

4. Swamp!
Just a little too much. I hate all that swamp! Use some weedkiller on that, or somethin. =)

Cortez's Final Beginer Grade: B+.

And Level two..Same thing as level 1. =)

thanks for your help everyone :D and thanks cortez for telling me how to make the levels better and stuff well thank you all :D

LittleBiiru 07-09-2004 02:53 AM

No problem. Keep makin' levels.

I like the level (For a you just starting)
You have your own style (Somewhat like delteria but it's diffrent).
Do the advice given to you, and try this: Break your ground up a bit (the road)
What road have you seen around your house that isnt messed up somehow?
It adds a nice little effect, but don't overuse it. Just like a pinch of it.
You'll do fine, keep on working on it.

WanDaMan 07-13-2004 10:34 AM

I agree with Cortez, take his advice. You do also show some potential. Don't give up.

6/10 :)
