Server EXP reset

Okay.

We all know bugs have destroyed GK's leveling system. We know that 95% of the people on the server who are over level 60 have used some bug, illegal tool, or some other thing to level themself up in a quick matter. I propose an exp reset. You can keep items, stats, etc. I just want all levels to be reset to 1. Yes this would mean our weapons would get wiped, but possibly an npc could be made to receive our diamonds, iwds, ews, stat potions, etc. back to re-create the weapon. I think this would balance the game out to newbies, while not pissing people off who have had their items and worked hella hard for em'.

Oh, yeah. That'll help. The people who have done so in the past will find such security holes or utilities again and level themselves back up. Again and again, resets have always hurt the low to mid-range players; people who cheat will do so again, whereas those who don't are forced to go back to the drawing board.

If you're so sure that it's the Lv60+ people who are at fault here, why not propose an EXP reset for them? I mean, it should be quite obvious that people at level one, two, ten, fifteen, twenty and so on haven't cheated their way to free EXP. Why punish them and their hard work for the immorality of others? Of course, there are Lv60+ folks who have earned their level, and this isn't fair on them, either. So this isn't really a practical plan in either case.

Resetting a stat is a method of being seen to deal with a problem without actually having to do anything. How does the ol' saying go? "Prevention is better than cure." Cracking down on cheating - even just something like a log and NC alert every time someone gets huge amounts of EXP in a short space of time - is better than erasing everything because of the exploits of a tiny number of people.

Granted, there are some circumstances in which it is useful to hold a reset; after a server overhaul, say. Most of the time, though, it's just too heavy-handed.

Graal 2002 just needs any bugs it has worked out then possibly a total reset. I dont know, something has to be done. It's not balanced as it is now and all the high levels are bastards/egotistical/full of shizzle/ and think they can pk by picking on level 10's like me.

I would SO like to kick ana's ass on a real pk server. There are SOME exceptions to the whole "all high levels suck" thing though. <3 nalle

I think that, while the server is under construction, no one should be able to rise above the level that was seen as the maximum anyone could get with the experience resources we had. No one was expected to go higher then lvl.50 on Brutals. Now it's normal. This is what went wrong. All those above lvl.50 should be lvl.50.

There certainly needs to be a ceiling, and after a few more things are added there needs to be a reset.

The server can't be in development forever.

Splke 07-03-2004 02:26 PM

Ag0ny went to lvl 83 semi-legitly.. he spent 200 hours in the HH getting 33 Brutals, then he mapped them, got 23 levels off of them. Makes sense.

I agree with Brad, all except for the reset. You made money off of GK, your a horrible person for proposing a reset.

2k2 neerds a LOT more then a reset.

Here is what I propose what should happen. First off no one even staff unless they are strictly testing an item or something should get things that normal players cant get. They also should remove what ever advange item or something once they are done testing. Meaning use common sence dont just say your "testing" an item that will never be realised to the public. Also I think perhaps invoking a system where your level goes down if you dont train after a while would be reasonable. This way it keeps things more balanced. Finally I think in order to keep a community each class should have its own advantage to making money and we would need to remove scrolls that allow certain class's to gain the advantages of other class's. By doing this people will be interdepident of other people this way there is always something to do and everything is more balanced. I also think they should make food more rare and perhaps remove the amlute of substance so that food also takes a play in this. Do not get me wrong dont make it too hard for food to be gotten but challanging enough thats all. Because how things are now only newbies have to eat. Everyone else has a substance amulate or prays to the right god or something.

I think it would be interesting for kingdoms to go on a "food hunt" where they all hunt different monsters and gather food for their kingdom. But yeah you might be saying well what if some smack tard goes and eats all the food. The answer to this is make it so if your food meter is full that you cannot eat any more food.

I agree with donald on the "no special items" thing he said at the beginning. :)

Heh thanks =), I think I did a pretty good outlineing the aspacts needed to be changed in order to make gk into a more fun online game.

Personally I also believe that any clothes upload should be able to be used by everyone.

I think it would be easyer on everyone if they had one large main cloth shop or better yet made clothes an item like armor and certain clothes would be rarer then others. Like hats and shogun hats like how it was on 2k1.

Crono 07-03-2004 04:22 PM

The staff are too lazy to do ganis.

GTXOO 07-03-2004 04:25 PM

No a full reset is the only suitable way to make balance for 'a while'.

Just exp, and keeping all the duped corupt gained weapons rings and armor, will allow them to level quickly.

Matman58 07-03-2004 04:28 PM

Question....if you don't play kingdoms for awhile does your account automatically reset??
Because mine did and now I gotta start all over and well I am just not going to do it. Cause it was hard to get where I was.
