Flower gardening coming to GK
 

Hello everyone. =] It's me. (no really)

Currently on debug jagen+I are working on mini flower gardens that can be planted outside your house, and no other people cannot steal/destroy it. I thought this would be a nice touch, adding to the decor, etc.

More info about it wil be realeased later...

The normal gfx is already done. However, i got the idea of making kingdom flowers as well. (kind of like a symbol flower for your kingdom.) This is merely just for fun + just a little nice touchy thing added to your kingdom.

No I am NOT designing the flowers for the kingdoms. I already did my work and this is IF you want your kingdom to have a flower so this is completely your choice. Some people might say okay what's the point? There isn't, this is basically for YOU AND YOUR KINGDOM to decide on. If you want something to symbolize your kingdom, here's your chance, it is not mandatory. Just for pride and fun. I'm just informing you people so that when we release it, other kingdoms would not complain and go "Why does <insert kingdom here> have a flower and we don't?" If you want one. Deside on what type of flower would represent your kingdom the best and have someone make it.. Thank you.

Here are some examples of flowers i already made before hand. Please follow the sprite sheet and don't go over the designated space because you will mess up the gani =_=. Please try to make a flower that will be unique. We already have common flowers like roses. So if you make a "ROSE OF SAMURAI" or "LILY OF DUSTARI" it will seem a bit repetitive. (tho we don't havelilies at the moment). But it's your choice. =] Please try to make decent looking things =X (I'm picky yes but it's your kingdom..if you want to make something bad looking for your own kingdom it's totally your choice.)

Zormite wishes to keep theirs a secret. Because theirs is so cool. har har, that's my opinion btw :P

Okay basically these are some of my examples. Those aren't kingdom ones btw. If you would LIKE to submit a flower, post them here or if you want to keep it a secret, msg/send me. [[IF possible. I would like to know what you're making before you make to avoid kingdoms having same types of flowers. That won't be good. Thank you for reading.]]



AND please do not send multiple ones to me. Decide which one is the best, and be sure to have talked over with your kingdom leader first.

I don't think the question is "why?" or "what's the point?", I think the question would be priority? Are you saying the next thing added to GK is....flower gardens....? :\

It's a nice idea, sure, but it seems like it'll be just like pets. Good for 5 minutes then lose popularity and then get blamed for lag.

Make dead vines/thorn bushes for orcs.

*shrug* Most people I talked to seems to like it. Plus it's already done(kinda) :p
They dont stick around forever, they die if you don't water it xD

So we have to work for something that is for looks and gives no real gain when we have to work for items and levels which do have gain... I'm really trying to be nice here....but it's hard. This looks like another attempt to keep us happy for a day while the staff finish something. I heard alchemy was coming out really soon from a staff who will go unnamed, but where is it? Is this flower stuff a ploy to keep us happy while you decide to hold that back?

Where are the GK staff priorities at? Honestly.

Again, it's a nice idea, but it's something that should be added around a better time, not when other things that could help GK can be getting done.

I think its a great idea, it will sort of help get rid of that cookie cutter housing aspact of graal houses.

Nice, I like the purple ones for Forest if ya don't mind ;p Hehe, not like it'd matter with all the exclusive trees when completely finished. I think it'd be a nice idea to make blue roses ;-;

But it's done already like i said =_= what diff does it make if released now or later? Plus I'm just trying to be nice, to say players can submit anything if they want to be added, just so peopel dont 'bish'.

And, mind you, you don't have to add it to ur house if you don't want to.

Seem to be ignoring the fact I'm questioning priority, not if it's done or how it was done or whatever.....but who cares anymore.

Sounds all fancy and stuff but seriously, rc on dev just because you're with jagen and working on some flowers? Graal Kingdoms needs a FACE LIFT and globals are too busy letting people on their dev just to make FLOWERS? Seriously...@___________@;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ;;

God..Why are staff so ignorant? Why don't you work on something that actually HELPS the server, instead of just makes things more interesting for the people who already have it all? Wow..

And why must you be so negative? This is helping the server.. Its helping taking away the cookie cutter aspact of player houses. Yeah sure I guess there could be more important things to do to help the server out, but that will be done in due time. Right now this is done and I think its really cool.

Maybe in the future you could add it so you can grow large supplys of plant food which would be worth money or something.

Just them two. I'm pretty sure Jagen is working on things along with the flower project and there are more than just two people on debug doing stuff... heck... Hurumi isn't even a staff... she just likes to do things like this :redface:

I agree with Ed, it's just them two, they do so much for the server, there having a wand shop and a new clothes shop soon too, they can't do massive things.

why we cant plant herbs?

Will that change when the weather system is around? 'cuz then it'll rain.

I like the idea, and it has been suggested in every suggestions threat that was about farming yet... its a wonderfull idea! and what i like most: its an idea for kingdom islands, NOT always main...

EGASP!! Behold!! Someone on the graal forums actually likes my graphic!! No he did not say I used too many colors, no he did not complain about the shape or shadeing. He actuallyed liked it!! Sounds like a funky idea. I think that there should be little kingom garden features, not just flowers. For example, samurai would get a gravel-garden thingy, zormite would get a small pond with reeds, pirates would get...err...yes, forest would get a badger hole or something o_o, dustari would have uhh...a garden gnome maybe, or a statue of some sorts.

Well now that some people think this is useless, i'm not sure if we'll actually add stuff like statues/plant herbs and yeah :o I just thought this would be kinda fun and neat to have, and here i have people questioning about priorities and stuff.. [blah blah plz]

NOTE:: BIG NOTE: this isn't the only thing staff is working on. please be kind and not judge us as a whole. God. seriously. Jagen's doing alchemy, wand shop, and some other shiz. Then theres clothing shop, and this is just to make things more interesting.

maybe Dustari can plant normal flowers, Zormite can plant seaweeds and other flowers, Samuria can grow Samuria flowers and bamboo sticks, Forest can plant wild flowers and wierd looking trees and pirates can plant dead or some other flowers and weeds,

Just ignore them and follow your heart.

Of course. It's done already, I'm just telling kingdoms + their leaders to avoid future complaints of "WHERES MY FLOWER?" or some junk like that. =]

Oh, hm, i never bothered to read the other posts in this thread, but i can see the arguments from both sides and understand them. On the one hand staff are working, and just don't get understood or thanked, but on the othe hand, surely if, for example, jagen just stuck to one thing such as the wand shop, instead of working on multiple things at once, he'd get the wand shop done first, be able to release that, which would keep us entertained until the next thing he'd concentrated on came out? o_O

Yes but by working on multiple things you get alot of things done all at once. Also its booring working on the exact same thing ALL of the time.

Whatever, it's done so there is nothing you can do silly people. Atleast the ones smart enough to appreciate it will enjoy it.

You dont even need dev RC to be working on flower graphics, huru.

That's not the point even. Of course I don't need dev RC to do flower graphics. I need it because I work on other stuff?

In fact, I didn't get RC because of flowers. o_o I got it more than a year ago while me and Jag made Hotaru.

I'm sure Jagen is working hard on debug. It just takes time; he's not a machine, and he has summer school so that must mean he has work to do for it as well. Why do you make sound liek he's the only staff? I'm sure other staff on debug are working hard to get things done.

Oh I love this idea. haha. In Fact, I suggest all admins ignore players and do whatever they feel is right. Just ignore us.

On a serious note, we are allowed to show our concern about where the staff priorities are, so I don't see your right in ignoring that concern if you were to ignore us. We questioned the priorities and all we needed was a simple answer about what else is being done, not being ignored. It would be really nice if we were kept informed about stuff being done and not hit with stuff like......flower gardens.... :rolleyes:

We are working on several things for Graal Kingdoms, but we don't want to announce them before we are sure it is done soon, since things often take more time than planned. We will soon release the new recipes (finally), and are working on new trading and new monsters. In the past few weeks we have not added a lot of new things, but we have speed up the server a lot and fixed problems that crashed the server sometimes.

Also yeah, the server was real laggy last month, and sometimes before that, but it seems to be better this month. Thanks guys <3

What about graphics for those armours and weapons that don't show up on the character? :frown:
