1st Official Graalian Artist's Challenge: Finals!!
 

First of all I'd like to say that I think this turned out really well, and I appreciate everybody who participated in this event.

Alright, I picked out what I felt was the top 5 entries. I will show them in now particular order, you guys get a week to vote on this? Tell me if you think that is too long.
Also tell me if you think voting is the best way to do it, and should I vote? And if so, should my vote be weighted a bit more? Say worth 5? I say this because I think some of you will be unhappy with choosing to vote since the results may not be entirely accurate.

I bet that if you had added mine everyone would have voted for it. :O

A week sounds good, its not too long although three days might be ideal. I think you should be able to vote Zen, but your vote can be worth say two so it wont be a blowout.

Lol, it was a tough choice between the morbid one in A and the happy one in C, so i chose the happy one, it had more expression to it, and it looks very nice too :D

Tough competition there, nice creations everyone who entered =)

Heh, the next time your gonna do this, make a freehand freestyle one ;P

I voted for Entry D. It's more detailed in my opinion and i like detailed stuff.

I chose entry D; it's funny with the music box, it looks like one of those stuffed pet machine thing.

Some "artist's" challenge... more like a popularity contest.

How so?
No offence to the other artists (who I don't know - as their names aren't listed) but if it was I think Scott would win because of his other artwork, but he is not currently winning... and yeah maybe next time it could be done by emailing them in to stop it but I don't think it will be based on popularity and even if it is it will be fun and everyone who entered should be happy with what they made, and future competitions can be improved.

::shrugs:: I don't really care who wins really. I had fun doing it, and it gave me something to do while I was bored at work. ^.^; Heck, I didn't even vote for my own. =P

It is. Donald dosen't like the blood on the banana though. :P I think Galdors and Scott's are the best monkeys up there, I voted Scott. :D

I had a tough time choosing between Goboom's and Scotts... but since I dont like the banana in Matt's (as I had expressed before) I went with Scott's. The one with the music box is just weird... ;o It has like... a dot for a nose... and the it's holding its cup in its left hand... how does it crank it's music? :(

I purposely didnt list the names for that reason. Thats also why I was worried about doing an open pole for this. Should my vote be weighted differently?

I'm trying to figure out how to best work these competitions still, remember..

You should have had them personally send you the files and then put them up as a b c d e etc

Scott signed his image though, perhaps you shouldve edited that to make it fair to the others? I don't think it matters though.

Just go with the way things are this time and in the next challenge make the artists anonymus. Even if people try to be objective, if you know a picture has been drawn by a friend you tend to vote for that to help out.

Now, if you exuse me, I have a war to win against the english.

Easy solution: make a rule against that for next time ^^

No it doesn't... I think it's quite good personally. It has the right effect sort of. I can completely understand what the artist was trying to portray.

I like Goboom's the most. Then I like C. I forget the name of the creater. I shouldn't have. Why did I? Oh yea, Tony Rivers. Good work, folks.

I narrowed them down to D and E then I realized E looks like an Alien...*Clicks D*

heh instead of being a jerk and voting for my own to tie with scott I voted for B because B was being left out =O anyway thats my good deed for the day =D.

Voted C. It's the only one that looks like a monkey to me, I would have maybe voted for Galdors if he would have finished it. I love the comment about my monkey being an alien, I can actually see it now. I suppose it would be one of those brain apes, yus? ;) Sorry about the tag on my submission Zen, didn't expect this to happen.

if this is a graphics contest then should E win... followed by A (the human with a tail and fur :-P) then D,C,B

I said I would give you guys a week to vote, and I set the poll to close exactly seven days after the time I posted it. On my computer its 12:49 AM, on the 20th. About 10 minutes from now.

In case anybody cares, I voted for "D" the 2nd or 3rd day of the poll. So I had nothing to do with choosing the winner of this very close competition (1 vote difference between 1st and 2nd).
