Pirate Event Item ideas!
 

Hey, I'm making graphics and such and submitting them to Jagen for new items etc, anyone have any ideas for Pirate Event Items? If I like the idea I'll do it up and submit. *boggles*

I suggested stats similar to: Assassin's Shadowmail (dex+1)(ac+3)(armor+35)(stealth) and also suggest that the speed reduction from wearing it be less than that of mith, due it it being more thief/assassin oriented than heavy armors such as PMoP etc, which are more geared towards big guys with hammers. *boggles*

Whatcha think? Ideas welcome. *smiles*

Not saying big guys with hammers couldn't use it, they would just be sacrificing armor/ac for speed. *smiles*

ew, its just a chainmail filled in all black. *boggles* And pirates wouldn't wear assassin's clothing. *boggles* And those stats are just crazy. *boggles*

Isn't it just a re-color? and those stats are WAY too powerful ._: And pirates arn't assains ;O They are more like, cutthroats and bandits, well pirates actaully XD

Considering it's called Shadowmail instead of Assassin's Shadowmail
the fact that Pirates weren't technically assassins doesn't matter in the freaking first place
And even if it is a recolor, it looks cool
and I know that a recolored item will actually show up on my character unlike Mith
I have screwed up so many times cause I didn't realize whether my Mith was on or off

Yeah it looks cool, hmm the normal chainmail should just be recolored in mithril colors, maybe some script in the mith chain needs fixing too, it shouldn't take very long to fix anyways ._.

mithril is worn under clothes ... and shouldnt show on character

There should be an option for chainmails to be worn either visible or invisible, i.e. under your clothes, with maybe a speed -1 attatched to that. Also, these stats are a bit much, in my opinion, too.

And who developed the freaky style of wearing metal armor under clothing?

Mithril is a chain mesh, worn beneath armor, or clothing. Superior to chainmails, which weighs one down, it's links are incredibly tight, and close togather, providing superior defense against peircing weapons. (roxursox)

Shadowmail - Baldurs Gate : Never Winters Night ; Act 3

Sadly, it's a re-color, and the dex+ is so powerplayers \ people who enjoy 30/30/30 can get the dex+ from an armor, instead of getting a hammer / monkeys / dex bracers.

Looks good, but perhaps a .. Cuirass or something would be more suited for pirates.

of course, that's usually worn on the outside anyways
it's a lot like a bullet proof vest of today
and when you put more metal on top of it as the Mith GFX suggest
it should definitely be worn on the outside

Pirate cutlasses, one of them old guns.

Not sure how happy people'd be if there were guns on the server, but i suppose it would be ok - you could only fire it once every two seconds or something, and it'd have (damage +20) on it to start with, or something like that (because its a gun! :O). You could make it so that you have to alchemise the amunition (gunpowder+shot), that'd be cool.
But it would be a nice item for pirates to roleplay with.

Off-topic, wouldn't a Cutless but like the Sabre? Their quite simular.. I'd like to see Forest with a Sabre (Elves are more eligent) and Pirates with a Cutless. >D

Cuirass is still my vote.. or a Brigidiane. Thats a pirate armor too.

if bomys, gloks, 'shrooms, and bunnies can be oversized re-colored Lords, then shadowmail can exist...
I'd like to see an all-black-type armor, like the Dark Brotherhood armor from Morrowind... it's just cool!

...although I won't be here fer long...
