A few questions - Blessings
 

Right, just a few queries, since im going to be prepping a weapon soon :O

1) Do the attacks Fear and Confusion do anything? If so, what, exactly, and how effective are they, and how can you tell if they're doing anything?

2) How effective is Diancecht's blinding when put on a weapon like the Thunder Sword or Flaming Ice Sword? (I ask this because, i blessed my ice sword to leuc+2 once, and most of the time it displays ice-attack messages, and only once in a blue moon says that i've zapped them)

3) If a weapon with two different attacktypes on it (eg, cold and lightning) then, when you attack, are both those types doing damage regardless of what the little messages are saying? Or does it only attack with one or the other? :(

6) Why is Diancecht's blessing levels so stupidly high? I asked wren what they were and she said +3 was like, wisdom lvl42..stupid, no?

More attack types mean higher ability to attack a higher number of times, each element effects their resistance, i.e. Fear damage on somebody with -50 resistance will do 150% damage based on the armour and damage dice roll, Dian is horrible on a weapon when you're prepping, unless it's a AC breaker (high ew weapon) in each, I would say, go Ogma. Dian is horrible compared to Ogma, since it only effects WC...

Erm, "I" can more or less answer any other questions, as well.

So confusion does actually help? Humm.
How come aengus's slow is so ineffective? Ogma poisons, slows (through poison) and screws up WC/AC, while people like Aengus and DC who are meant to be the WC damagers and slowers don't do squat. It's so lame =/

Fear and confusion do the same as weaponmagic; nothing, but if someone has no/a - resist it hurts.

Edit: Wtf, what complete goon changed the forum smileys? That angry/stinklines face is now : pissed:, but if you try to use it, you get :pissed: instead. Grrrr lol

I only read half of this thread, but I'll give my input. I hope I'm not revealing my "secrets" either ;)

Anyhow, I have 2 weapons- an "AC breaker" and a damage hitter. The damage hitter was probably a mistake to prep- it's ID of Gov+7 prepped with IWD's only. The "AC Breaker" is Diamond Force of Leucetious+10 (it was +4, but prepped with 6 EW's...). However, I gladly would have taken a Gov+7 DF instead of the Leuc+4 DF... I didn't want to settle for a +5 gov blessing (the only one possible now- or known of?)- It's all or nothing for me. Why didn't I look for Ogma+7 (or the aparent+8?) you ask? I already worship Ogma. Though it would have been more WC- it would be a waste of attack (I just cast holy possession on myself for Ogma's effects).

er, how is leuc meant to be an AC breaker when it doesn't cripple the opponent in any way?

AC breaking means that it lowers the target's AC, or something...i think??

Don't nuke anyone or anything unless you nuke the whole system with a bunch of fine-tuned nukelings to equalize it in some ways while retaining the diversity.

I think the system is fine, but there should be added monsters and other things so that the other gods bonuses would be usefull ;O

Maybe the blinding effect on Dian's weapons should be added, and have a high chance to blind, and if you got blinded your screen would turn black, also the confuse at Aengus' weapons should maybe reverse the controls on your arrow keys?

OMFG dude that idea for confusion is goddamned amazing. I remember how frustrating it was on Toejam and Earl (sega Genesis/Megadrive) when you got hit by the cupids, and your direction keys changed randomly (So one minute up is down, left is right...and then the next minute, left is up and right is down, and down is left and up is right..etc) and it was mad as hell. That should be what aengus does, since his slow is so pitiful =/
Also, does bile's lifestealing actually steal any life from your opponent and give it to you? I woulda imagined it would but i never saw it do that...
