Input needed on Playerworld forums
Well we can't keep adding and removing those playerworld forums, and doing so is a bit silly as neither playerworld specifica sub-forum gets enough traffic for one..
So basically we are wondering how exactly people would like playerworld forums? Maybe one or two sub-forums for certain things such as 'Staff Needed' and 'Playerworld Previews/Whatever' and the rest just falls into the main forum.... any ideas/input? And you do have graal.net forums for those hosted PWs I know, but they aren't very nice or easy access. |
I think that if a playerworld requests one, then sure. If it's innactive or they don't, delete it.

Mmm, I wouldn't get rid of every PW sub-forum though, some have decent traffic, or did/will. Maybe offer the option, set up a trial period, have a poll, some kind of system so PW's that want and will get use out of a sub-forum could still get one. |
Remove them, they are rarely used nor checked and most people post in this section of the forums anyway for all PW needs.
Some sub-forums such as "Udates and News" would be nice, maybe "Staff Hirings" can alternatively fall under those rather than get its own seperate section? "Playerworld Reviews" should be done by the PWA only and posted in this area in my opinion ;x Maybe an event forum would be nice...hm... |
The sub-forums dont have enough traffic for any to have their own, and most PWs have their own forums on their website, so we may as well remove them....
I think we need a forum to split away the: -Staff Jobs -Previews -'My new server which you will hear nothing about again' -Development Updates Into one sub-forum and use this forum for general topics and for those servers on the classic list: -Discussion of more than one PW -Opinions of PWs -Problems/Help/Questions |
I'd agree with removing them entirely.. but mainly because I think playerworlds should be responsible for providing their own discussion boards, web-material, etc..
|
My opinion:
Get rid of all of them, and make 2 sub forums named " PW Staff Hirings" and "Playerworld Reviews/Information" I think the staff hirings needs its own forum, so people dont have to sort through everything to find them |
Or you could just leave them the way they are, its been fine for as long as they have been open, it will be fine forever (or as far as I can see) Why waste the time of adding another forums onto a forum which has many problems already. (or atleast that I have heard of)

Mayby its good to make a Classic from with al the classic playerworlds and a Hosted forum with all the hosted playerworlds..
|
For the playerworld-specific forums of the hosted playerworlds, graal.net should be used.
For the public ones, these forums are available. This way is fine. As for special forums for staff hirings...again, graal.net. And, even if you made a subforum here for staff hirings, they would still post in the classic forum "because more people read it". |
Playerworld Forums:
News/General posts regarding playerworlds, show off stuff, etc. etc. Help/Hirings: Places to seek help or staff members for your project. ^^^Ideal^^^ |
Now that I think about it (this phrase makes no grammatical sence if you think about it :megaeek: ), a hirings specific forum would be very low traffic. Even though it is just one forum and is easier to moderate then 20 low-traffic forums (just because of moderation changes and such) it is kinda silly. It would be more efficient, and wouldn't hurt anyone to just have hirings in a non-specific up-coming and new playerworlds' news forum. I mean, it isn't that hard to sift through thread titles looking for "hiring" is it?
Separation of playerworld types would be nice if traffic gets overwhelming in having just one forum. Otherwise it's just silly, no? Meh, just because some playerworlds don't have anything to talk about now doesn't mean the respective forums are useless... (i.e. Oasis, DK, others I don't look at myself) Would be nice to have a collaberation of PW independant forums somewhere, since I'm to lazy to care if it's not presented to me (not the only one I'm sure) |
The forums for individual playerworlds are senseless anyway, because very few of the people who play there have Gold/VIP for Forum acces.

Its perfectly fine, you must be blind if you don't see it. Lance is right graal.net was created for a reason, if not enough people go there? too bad. Moderators need changing? What that happens once every couple of months? If it happens more often then the server should not be there becuase its having way to many managers. Only managers should get access to modding of those forums, if they don't have gold too bad, the super mods have more then enough time to watcg the low traffic forums. |
