new house painting
 

I think we could use some more house paintings, so I decided to go onto google, find myself one of davinci's paintings, and make a 2k2 painting version of it.

by the way, the images are all 24bit, so they'll only work with v3... if anyone wants to fix them, by all means do so (and actualy, please do).

ok now the images should be 8bit ^^ well, cept the last one, but that one isn't meant to go on the server...

Lol @ illegal. But yes! Make some more, it'd be cool to have more paintings rather than the four rather ugly ones we have right now. Also, it'd be cool if there were custom frames, so you could choose the painting, and then choose a frame to go around it!

That painting was made over a hundred years ago, there is no copyright on it. Why would it be illegal?


Painting looks good anyways, better than the terrible cliparty paintings online now.

Custom frames = l33t

PW rule state "Do not upload anything into the file-manager that you do not have authorization to upload. No inappropriate, copyrighted, or unauthorized material should be uploaded into file-manager."

I also believe somewhere else (and that is the reason why the above exist) that anything which is put into the ftp becomes property of Graal Online.

Da'Vinci's work is Da'vinci's work, not ours for the taking. I'm also positive there is a law somewhere against using it. Now unless you can find something that proves else-wise, it's not going to get pass me.

It is very simple. You cannot use it because...well because I said so. :)

Chris mentioned the most important point, being that: All gfx uploaded to a graal server's ftp is supposed to become proptery of GraalOnline. And since Graal cant claim sole ownership of "public domain" gfx, it cannot upload them onto it's servers. :)

If you want to argue that point, realize my stance is that it wont be allowed, and so there is no point in arguing it any further..

Lol, i totally saw a helecopter graphic that had been taken STRAIGHT from a game on www.squarecircleco.com on Bravo evolved a while ago. Heli attack 2 is a leeto game.

How about having it where you can buy a paint and brush and have fun with your house? :p unique houses would be awesome.

Well, I found a sort of solution to the problem, by using ganis, and then the variables for which frame and picture to use could be saved in the item itself. The only thing that still needs to be thought about are the mudlib images.

This is how it works (in Graalshop):
In Param 1, you choose which painting you want (1,2, or 3)
In Param 2, you choose which frame you want (4 or 5)
The painting and frame images are in the zip, aswell as the gani. I hope Stefan/whomever has any use of this.

That could work, but wouldn't it create a lot of lag? o.o
