Ok, i've got some beef to grind here... First of all... You didn't give any information about the server AT ALL... No screenshots, plans... Not even the bloody name!...
Second of all, aren't you the fellow who was complaining about not having a server for 2 months after you paid for it?... Don't you think that <i>that</i> time would've been good to get a staff roster started? Maybe have something to show now?... <--- This isn't directed specifically to you, I'm just ranting in general here---> Ugh! See, the problem with these kids being able to buy servers whenever they want is that barely any of them pre-plan before buying the server... It's a complete waste of server time... and MONEY! You can do the majority of the graphics and levels work without a server... Then when you get the server, you piece everthing together and top it off with scripts <--- End Rant---> |

I would say go back to the method of accepting PWs only if they have so much completed among other requirements. But, one could argue that you need an npcserver to test certain things... Oh hell, if you need to test things get a job on a current server and figure out what you're doing before trying to make your own server. You don't have to test [i]every[i] script, just make an outline of your server then submit. When(if) it is accepted, then you can debug things... Oh, look, I provided a solution, I'll just remove the thing I said earlier... whoops Edit: oh crap, I broke the forums :| where's Farin when you need him? |
Lol, I just noticed you posted after me.
There's no way to emulate an NPC server offline? 0.o; |
yeah, something messed up when I posted so my post was still sent but not recognized by the forums or something, still had your name as last poster I mean
I mean that if you know what you're doing, you don't really need a npc-server to test things, since they are going to work anyway. Plus, even if your smaller npcs don't work, it doesn't take much to fix them. Larger projects like complicated movement or some other system would take an npc-server, but who says you have to make those first? |
