Need more usefull house items
i think there should be more funiture thats actually usefull, like say a furnace, and a water barrel, and an oven for bread, all kinds of stuff, armor racks, weapon racks, book pedestals, you name it, that would make there much more then just shop houses, but also smithery houses, bakery houses, librarys, weapon/armor show off houses, anything and everything, it would make houses so much better to have all that, and make couldrons furniture, that way you can run an alchemy brewery

Ovens for bread would be impractical. There is a reason that the bakeries are there. Most people in a setting like this didn't have huge bread ovens in their houses. There is already a cooker, make use of that.
Similar reasoning goes along with the furnace for smithing. There's a reason these buildings are present in towns. Alchemy and spells aren't allowed to be cast inside playerhouses, as there are many spells (alchemy included) that destroy items in the area. I doubt you'd be too pleased when you go to make your alchemized potion, and have your chest full of supplies disappear in the alchemy spell as well. As far as the rest. A water barrel isn't really needed, as you can store bottles of water in a box or chest. Racks for armor and weapons would be nice, as long as only the owner of the house is allowed to add and remove things from them. Bookshelves already exist, they just need to be made to hold more than 10 kg (Considering 1 book weighs 8 kg...which...to me is overly heavy for the amount of text they actually hold. :P ) |
you do not realize that not everyones house is near a town, also book cases you can steal from, a book pedastel you can read the book, but the book isn't gonna get stolen, and correct me if i'm wrong, but satrek said that alchemy (on couldrons only) will soon be allowed in houses, also the cooker can't make bread, and the oven wouldn't be as big as the ones in the bakerys, having a furnace in your house could proove usefull, but you would also need an anvil, and the anvils for player houses would make things that normal ones can't (like the cooker), wich would make the furnace and anvils usefull, also all of this would be usefull for RPing, cause what if you have a important guy who lives in the middle of noware and runs a smithery? also water barrels are for cooling off hot metal, but you have to fill it with water yourself, and it can only hold water.

*gets annoyed at satreks reply* fine, screw the crafting/ect. things, i don't want to start a flame war, but we need more ideas....
auto restocking trade stands: ok, long name, and also a weird idea, but hey, it could work, all you do is fill each of the spots on the trade stand with items (in the order you want them to appear) and presto, it will auto restock with the next item in line when an item is bought, every stand would have 3 spots and each spot holds 4 maximum items (unless you reach the weight limit), weird idea, but it could work room seperator: it basicly is a short (height-wise) wall that is used to seperate sections of the house to give a rooms effect, also weird, but hey, not as weird as battle mushrooms... |

people with popular shops that he/she can't be around all day but have to be kept restocked. people who can't get on graal so much (you do realize that noone can be on 24/7). oh and also it gives certin people the ability to fairly sell to people in diffrent time zones, so that makes 3 diffrent people. and it would be a nice change for all those shop owners to not be going back and forth allllll day long if their popular (wich i'm sure someones gonna make a popular shop any day now) |

Anyhow, alot of these ideas (ie tables being able to have stuff on them) have been mentioned in other recent posts. Just post in those to move them upward so they aren't forgotten. |

also, houses should be more easylie available to people who don't want to be in a kingdom (me) cause not everybody wants to be in a kingdom, cause the only way i can think of for getting my own house is getting my friend to build it for me, cause i'm pretty sure that no kingdom (exept MABY forest) would allow me to build one, not even if i got all my friends that are in that kingdom to ask the king to let me, so i suggest an island thats run by the mayor of main that anyone can get a house on (with the mayors approval), and the houses would look different depending on where you build them, so you can have a pirate house by building it on a pirate section, ect. and maby a section for main island houses, and every section would look like the corresponding kingdom island+houses |
Apart from the server being called Kingdoms for a reason, why do you think no kingdom would accept you? Are you a scammer and thief, a hardcore pker or someone to generally annoy people? If not, I think you still have a good chance to find a kingdom for you, specially as becoming Citizen does involve a test of your rp-skills, not your list of friends (then again, I can only speak for Dustari).

so it's not that no kingdom would accept me, it's that i don't want to be in a kingdom, but have a house. but it's too late anyway, i'm joining JK, just for the house and because i have supported them from the start anyway, but i am still losing that feeling of freedom that i wanted to keep :( |

Sigh, i used to get annoyed by people who joined zormite just to have a house, especially the ones that ponced about on tag without ever participating in kingdom happenings, or even toguild conversations. there aught to be a better house management system. I reckon that, uh, maybe there should be an island designated for bums that want a house but aren't in the kingdom, and if the island gets full up, no more non-KDers can have a house on the kingdom. Also, the king or queen of a kingdom really aught to have the power to -destroy- houses. To stop them from going crazy one day, they'd have to have solid proof that they warned the house's owner 24 hours before destroying it, so that the owner could clear out his stuff.
Also, if the leader doesn't provide this proof, he gets banned from GK o_o |
