day/night
Day/night... you know you guys are itching for it!!!
Also, there should be some kind of 'improved torch' that could last for a longer span of time, than the normal one... Also, making it so some enimies (ie bomy ghosts and zombies) come out at night or so... or perhaps the haunted houses materialize at night, and disapear at day.... could also make it so the boss monsters come out at night more than at day. Could also make room for some fun quests like vampire hunting, and lyncanthrops, etc. Maby make it so the farther you stray from a path/city, the darker it gets, and wolves are closer the the entrances to dungeons? Maby make some jobs you could hire for to make some easy cash if you're a newbie (though this is an entirely different sugestion, it still applies to the thread... just keep reading and see...)... such as being a torch carrier and help npc people get between towns at night :D Maby make lunar cycles, so when there is a full moon, it is rather illuminated... and when htere isn't a moon, thieving might get a bonus, etc, because it is so dark. Maby make it so mp regains faster when there is a full moon, etc. |

Most of it has been suggested before, and I believe it will be added, yet not for the current software version. Once 3.0 (I think it's that one, or was it 3.1?) is finished, these effects will be avaliable and be used to create a fitting system. As for torches, stone lamps used to burn for 24 hours. I'll check on them if I get the chance sometime tomorrow.

yes I really love the idea, and for summoners, make it more possible(for wolf summoners, like me)for 2 wolves to come except 2 shell bomys or 2 gloks at a full moon, maybe there can be something like(for the jobs)to find and kill a vampiere or ghost, and when its night make the resitance of turn undead less

i think i gave myself the flu, i knew that prayer would backfire some day, anyway there should also be a carry-able torch that lasts longer maby you could make firewood, you place it on some burning kindleing wood and it makes it last longer, also maby a little grate-thing for putting over the fire that allows you to cook stuff, that would be cool, like say i was out adventuring, i could kill some shell bomys, take the meat, cook it, and now the meat restores only 70 food but also restores 40 hp ^_^ or cook a mushroom and it restores mana, stuff like that edit: also the fire (with the firewood) would give off more light, making it usefull, and maby have it so that within a certin range if a fire spell is used it will work better, and ice spells work worse, and it would hurt summons ^_^ edit (i like edits): also if there ever is a night/day thing, then make it so ethier every 12 hours or every 6 hours it changes, prferabley 12 hours if it slowly changes from night to day and vice versa, also maby make /sleep do something if used at night, like make HP and MP restore faster while your sleeping ^_^ edit (omg to many edits!): also plants should grow faster during the day, and slower (or not at all) during the night |
I like the torch carrier idea. I think Stefan already said there would be Zombies comin' out of the ground at night, like in The :egend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time.

and make it at midnight its pitch black, and you can only see if you have ring of thieves(the you can see ion dark now thing)a torch, and at towns torch lamps, or your houses, you can get an everlasting torch from doing 20 quests, so,

Everlasting torches would be kinda lazy ;)
What I'd like to see was a very rare werewolf-disease - say someone gets it as a present or such (say a random kingdom royalty member), to spread it. You have it for a week, and it will cause you to turn into a wolf every second or third night, or, better, every second or third night that you are online. In that form, you cannot use items but bite people, and you can decide to spread the disease, but you can only do so once, the second time you lose it yourself. If there are 2 werewolves, you will pass it on with the first bite, i.e. there can only be 2 werewolves at a time. Yes, yes, it's late, it may be a stupid idea but I like it in my dizzy state of mind... ;) |

about the warewolf, 2, maybe there can be more warewolves, or maybe there can be warewolf monsters, there wolves except theu can only move like other real wolves, and there twice as strong as wolves, and if theu bite you 5 times(there outside and there as many of them as bomies)you become one, you can eitther have someone have you cured with cure poison(hey, its sourdougbh poison) or die

Oh man, i love satrek's werewolf idea.
Or, possibly, there could be a werewolf-lord, or a werewolf monster that acts like lords. That is, he walks all around the island during the nighttime, or at least on one random day a week. He's indestructable, and when he attacks he has a speed of like 7 (only when he attacks though ;) ). When he attacks you, you don't get killed, but you get turned into a werewolf and you can spread the disease from there. This'd mean that if only one person came across the lord in a night, the disease would be small, but if lots of people got struck by the lord, then there would be a really rampant disease. That's just a thought though, i like satrek's idea more :) |
I think such a 'special' disease should be rare, something that is rather a myth than reality till it strikes you from behind a tree when you're wandering arround at night. Another of these strange tired ideas I had revolved about doing the same for vampires, but that's rather a question of roleplaying anyway, so... ;)
