Flaming Aura
Okay, now i'm not telling you to nerf Flaming Aura or crap. No, you should change all of it. This how it should be;
Flaming Aura will add some sort of fire at the players feet. This is only for the graphic. This fire should be 2*2 tiles wide, as wide as the player. The 'area of effect' should be 5*5 tiles wide, with the 2*2 in the middle. The 'area of half effect' is an area of 8*8 tiles wide, but the half effect isn't in the 5*5 area in the center. Flaming Aura, and possibly other aura's which could be added (Frost Aura, Lightning Aura), does players'wisdom-level/4 damage per second. It also gives + player's wisdom level resistance to , in this case, fire. Then, each different aura has a different bonus. Say, this one has a player's wisdom level/2 WC bonus. The Frost one has a player's wisdom level/2 AC bonus, and the lightning one a player's wisdom level/4 speed bonus. Now, friendly players (same party/kingdom) can also benefit from this aura if they are in the area of effect or half effect. The damage of the aura, and the bonuses for friendly players are half in the aura of half effect. This could stop the complaints about aura's but still make them profitable. |
Since an aura is somewhat a constant effect however, it might be considered that in addition to providing bonuses and dealing damage per second, it should also drain grace per second. Casting once would activate the Aura effect, Casting a second time would deactivate.
Similar to summon spells, grace would not regenerate while Auras are active. (To prevent endless auras.) Though grace is allowed to go into the negative areas. Auras should probably stop when grace reaches 0. Otherwise, it sounds much better than the current Auras. Perhaps aside from elemental auras, you could also have Healing Auras, and such. |
I agree, and I'd like to see more auras... for every god of one kind or another, the only other aura I know is sanctuary, and it doesn't work yet anyway...

Basically flaming aura is granted to Balor exclusively for a reason. It's one of his best perks. Now...making more auras would screw that over and make other spells inferior along with degrade his value as a God. Furthermore; flaming aura is fine as is :)

If other gods had auras (but like, different shapes and differnt size) it would be cool.
Like for lecutious lightning aura, instead of one of those spells. (But when it does that you don't see those clouds with the lines, maybe you see like static running through the floor, and if it was ice you would see like blueish clouds that have chunks of ice) |
Different auras would be nice, but they should not further unbalance the gods, as Balor does have his drawbacks, too.
