First body
This is my first attempt to try to make a body. Basically my first real graphic to try hard on. I am trying really hard to learn graphics because I know I am never going to find someone who can get the images out of my head better than I can, and I figure I better try to learn so I can eventually make my own server (considering the only development area I lack in is the graphical one).
Well, here it is. http://noxeo.com/firstbody.gif I posted this for suggestions, comments, and good ole' fasion criticism. I do want to get better, so help me. |
If we see his back, and if he's handicapped, 10/10. If not, ******* you :) way to stiff

Find a mirror, walk towards it.
Watch the way your body moves as you walk. The chest should not be completely still. The legs should move much more than that. It was a nice attempt so far, my best advice is to just take a look at how the different parts of your body move as you walk. |
I love it :), take notes on what Butz said still :)

yea, indeed. make the shoulders move a bit. make the upper body sway or something.

Err...ahem...I mean....It's a better view of movement, though it seems a little jerky. It could just be a consequence of the gif file though, so that can't be held against you. |
The hands don't go with the legs.. can't describe it...
Looks good though :) |

dude, yeah it's a bit rigid. It moves like frankenstein ;) My advice, since i'm a rookie graphics person too, would be to start small. Ie, not trying to do complicated stuff like animated bodies and stuff quite yet. I'm still finding small still images quite tricky sometimes, and animations of them harder still, so, yeah, don't be put off if you can't do something as complex as a moving body yet x_x Quote:

*sigh*, I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but its the truth.
If you want to learn how to make graphics, do NOT use ms paint. Get yourself a freaking scanner (or a wacom tablet mouse), learn to draw by hand, and download the GIMP. (that stands for Gnu Image Manipulation Program). www.gimp.org They even have a windows version, and good documentation. Also, since alpha blending in pngs will be added for v3, it makes drawn sprites even more efficient than before. |
As everyone says make the upper body move, also body looks a little wide for the arms.
There dont appear to be shoulders, you have to have a more smooth transition into the arms, everything moving is sequence, its tough just keep trying. |
